Ah, ok; thanks for clarifying! Yeah, you're right; I'm not familiar with her. :<
It's weird...on the pictures I viewed by Google Image Search, from some angles Rebecca Ferguson looks different/I can distinguish her face from other celebrities, and in others, she really looks a lot like Cassie Ventura to me. XD
Nice; I like coming across memorable quotes from the Pokemon games as well. The one currently in your sig reminds me of a lady on Mt. Chimney in Ruby/Sapphire who said something like "The heat of Mt. Chimney lights my fire, baby!" XD IIRC, a few other Trainers on that summit said similar things, and I think one of them got slightly edited in Emerald for some reason.
My favorite quote right now is by that Team Aqua Grunt of RSE in Rusturf Tunnel who holds Peeko the Wingull hostage. He says something like "What? You want more? Come and get some, then!" and then he says "Grah, keelhaul it all!" :cer_laugh: It just seems ludicrous imaging someone saying that in frustration in real life.
-Oh, wow...just did a quick search, and apparently "keelhaul" is an actual word/sailor term. And from what I'm reading, it seems pretty brutal. But now it makes SO much more sense. XD
Ah, very cool; they make a lot of nice songs. :cer_nod: Hayley Williams is quite the cutie as well. :3 As for me, my favorite band is fellow alt-rock group Silversun Pickups.
Yup, I did change it. Though the woman in my last signature was Rebecca Ferguson, she's a British singer/songwriter, she's not as popular as she should be so I'm not surprised you don't know who she is.
Haha, I actually remember the trainer saying that in my Platinum version, which is why when I saw the image on Tumblr, I put it in my signature immediately. :3
Oh noes...correct me if I'm wrong, but you just changed your signature, right? I thought I saw someone else in it just a few days ago.. :cer_confused: (I think she looked/looks like Cassie Ventura or Francia Almendárez, but apparently I'm usually terrible at recognizing familiar celebrities in people's forum signatures >.<)
On the other hand, does your current snowy-route screencap display actual dialogue text from the Generation 4 Pokemon games..? (sorry, I haven't played Platinum Version yet, and I think some people like to edit such text in sig pictures sometimes)
Finally, awesome Paramore profile picture. (I'm hoping I didn't screw that up..)
One could also argue that Suicune is canine due to learning the move Bark Out in Generation V - with cats being unable to "bark". And since Nintendo/Game Freak hasn't identified the actual inspiration, some could argue Raikou to be a grossly mutated canine or Suicune to be a grossly mutated feline. Dogs and cats both are quadrupedal and have maws, so it could go either way.
Even still, a lot of people use the terminology of "pixie" for all three Lake Guardians of Sinnoh, and they don't exactly fit the frequent interpretations mentioned in this article.
As for the Crown Beasts, I had taken the "Crown" label as referencing their association to the Crown City featured in the movie. "Beasts" may serve as a fitting clue, but it's only been applied to the three specific Johto trio members featured in the Ruler of Illusions movie, so it still doesn't help us identifying every Entei, Suicune, and Raikou aside from the ones featured in the movie.
But yeah, debates seem fun at times but they can get pretty heated, which is why I tend to discourage them. It can be interesting to view the opinion(s) of other members, though.
I guess "Legendary Beasts" has only been adopted as a common term for the sake/ease of referencing Entei, Suicune, and Raikou collectively in conversation. Until Nintendo/Game Freak provides official "design inspirations or origins" or an official collective term, I guess it's up to the players as to what to call them. I go with Legendary Dogs because that's the first reference I heard of them and the word "Dogs" sounds cooler in spoken word than "Cats", IMO.
And even if we do get an official term, there's always fanon terminology if we dislike a certain term...
I guess I should have explained a bit further, and wrote as a matter of opinion.
Beast, is used a term to describe all three of the legenderies, as it would be really weird (inappropriate, really...) to call them all a certain thing, they all have different traits. For example Raikou is considered a felines (maybe a tiger), Suicune is considered canine. So yeah, it's a sort of classification of all of them. But yeah, not every thing needs to be classified anyway, it's just using common sense. (not directing that to you)
Also, isn't Crown Beasts a bit of a clue? I mean, "crown" could just be a term for "Shiny", so stand alone, Beasts...? (That make any sense?)
This seems pretty fun, I like debates. (The reason why I joined this forum, just try not to get out of hand?)
Um...not trying to start anything, but do you have a official source documenting them as Legendary Beasts? From my understanding the only reason "Legendary Beasts" is used on Bulbapedia and the like is because fans are divisive on whether to call the Johto trio Legendary "Dogs", "Cats", or to an extent, "Gerbils". The "Beasts" terminology is used to remain ambiguous, apparently...
I tried looking on their current distribution page on the official HGSS site, but all I'm seeing is them being referred to as "Legendary Pokemon", which doesn't resolve the issue... I've heard "Crown Beasts" for the shiny variants, but only for the specific ones featured in the Zoroark movie. So my conclusion is that they can still be referred to by any of the aforementioned terms. I haven't played HeartGold yet, so I wouldn't know if they have the "Beasts" mention included in some spoken text from an NPC or something... :cer_confused:
