That's cool- I got back on Monday, turns out I've got 11 hours of lectures- but there are tutorials to be added, as well as at least 5 hours of music when October comes, so it's just the early days that are easy, haha. It's going pretty well so far though, I love college :D
Yeah, I've been happy with the introductory lectures that I've had so far for Music and Irish so I'm optimistic about it anyway. Wasn't totally sure about music but it's looking okay so far so it's all good! You too man, how's Orientation week going for you? Is Orientation/Fresher's the same week for UCC? :P
Thanks dude! I'm delighted! :D Yep, 15 hours is perfect! I know one guy who only has 11 though. xD But I also know people with 20-30. That sounds awful! But oh god, I wouldn't be able for a 41 hour week. xD Hopefully it's good alright! I'll finally be forced to learn stuff that I've attempted to do on my own for the past few years, haha.
Ah, that's awesome. :) My cousin lives just outside Maynooth. It's pretty cool! But Irish and Music sounds great if you like that sort of stuff. :D Hopefully you enjoy the year. :)
That's great to hear, well done man! A 15 hour week is the GRANDEST, wow. I had about 20 hours last year, but some of my friends had 30 (and then one doing Medicine in Galway had 41, which I don't even want to think about). Good luck with that anyway, I'm sure you'll love it :D
I'm back the 17th, in Maynooth doing Irish and Music. I managed to make it through first year, so.. here I go again, I suppose! :P
Haha, it really has been a while! We can attempt to hold one anyway! xD
I've been pretty good, especially now that the Leaving Cert's finished and I got my college course! How about you? :) Yep, I'm heading to UCC pretty soon. Orientation is next Monday and then I start on the 24th. :) I'll be studying Computer Science with some french modules. :D 15 hours a week - I can't wait! When will you be heading back?
Whoa, I nearly missed the reply. O_o
Yeah, and I'm 18 now so I want to slow down. xD
That's great to hear. You already had an idea of what it would be like too. :)
Aww right. That might be a good idea if they're that bad.
Yep, I thought it was the best of a bad lot. It was up against History and Economics. I actually got an A in Junior Cert History but Irish history is just so frickin' boring that I couldn't bring myself to study it in more detail. And Economics in TY was awful. We had a test that was 50% Accounting and 50% Economics. I got everything right on the Accounting part and got 52% overall. So yeah. xD
I'd have liked to have done Geography but the teacher is apparently awful so maybe I'm better off. :) I have a low attention span though and Physics doesn't go too well with that. Congrats on the C. :) I'm hoping to get an honour in it too. Thanks, I'll try my luck with Applied Maths too. It's an awful lot like Physics.
Well, basic knowledge is still pretty good. You understand what's going on. I'd probably need screenshots to work out what to do. xD
Yep but at least it's the last year, I suppose. They should have just made four long days and a half day on Friday. That would sort so many problems. I'm thinking about after-school study but in third year, we literally sat around laughing because someone fell asleep everyday. xD I got my homework done at best, but I guess that still beats waiting. :) Haha, thanks. Me too. I don't want anything expensive. Just any old car so I can actually go places on my own.
I know, time seems to fly past doesn't it? :P
Oh yeah, repeating has been good in many ways, for maturing and pulling up my results :)
Yeah, it really is annoying :/ I've always had a problem with my tonsils though so I reckon it may be time to get them removed soon enough, hehe.
Oh you did Physics? Me too! And, and, I was terrible at it, haha :D I got Ds the whole time in 5th year, and I actually failed it in my mocks and actual Leaving last year :P (I like to be able to laugh about it, haha). I managed a C in it this year, so there's my Honour, even though it was only by the skin of my teeth :D
Good luck with Applied Maths and stuff. I really liked Maths this year, but I was only able for Pass Maths, the Higher Maths teacher was just... awful.
Well, I'm not an overly established hacker, really. In fact I'm quite basic. I guess that doesn't really matter too much though, once you keep the place from running riot :D
Ah, tough break man :D That sucks about school though- for a good stretch in secondary school I had to wait up to an hour to be picked up, and you're right, it's annoying. I eventually signed up for after school study, so at least I managed to get some work done while waiting. :)
Anyway, good luck with the car stuff, hope you can get it soon enough. Those school times are seriously awkward :/
Haha, it doesn't feel like I've even been a member here that long.
I wouldn't remember anyway but that's grand. I hardly ever pay attention to the birthdays list. I usually just see the name of someone I'd talk to and say it randomly. Yep, summer was awesome. The offlicences have even stopped asking me for ID. xD Ah, that's good. That'll be a good start. The extra year seems to have been a great idea. :)
Aww, that must suck. Tonsillitis is a pain. Haha, that sounds like fun. Enjoy that. :D I'm dreading going back to school. I hate studying. xD I failed Chemistry and Physics in my summer tests so I think it's time to put in some work. On the plus side, French and Accounting are really easy so I can relax a little with those. And if it comes down to it, I can drop to pass Irish because I took up Applied Maths outside of school.
Ah that's good to hear. I can't say I'd like to have that responsibility though. I'm lazy and get bored of sites easily. xD And then again, you know what you're doing. :)
Haha, I do the same so I really can't complain. I finally got broadband so I don't really use my phone anymore so I'm probably a little better for it now. :)
Haha, not yet... xD I kept getting in trouble for things (going out, failing tests, lying in bed) so my parents said no. I've done some work over the summer though and I'm almost finished the lessons I'm taking so they said I should have one before Christmas if I work this year (which I'm planning on). My school's hours have changed this year too. Instead of 9.15 to 3.45 everyday, it's starting at 9.00 everyday and on Monday, Wednesday and Friday it finishes at 3.20 and on Tuesday and Thursday it finishes at 4.00. We've also lost a five minutes off our break. :( While it's not so bad in some ways, my bus doesn't come until 4.10 everyday. Standing around for 50 minutes, three days a week doesn't sound like fun. :( That's why I'm pushing for the car. xD
I know right, checking the dates I just realised... That's crazy...
Oh, yes, I remember seeing your Birthday on Facebook- I probably didn't message about it even though I'd have had every intention of doing so :( Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your summer of finally being legal :D I still have to wait a few more weeks but it'll be just in time for college, so it's all good. :)
Yeah, I'm a bit sickish myself at the moment. I think it might be tonsilitis, I had it during my exams and it feels pretty much the same :/ Nevertheless I'll end up going out tomorrow after CAO offers come out; I'm hoping to get Irish and Music secondary teaching in Maynooth. I have the points, so I just have to wait and see :)
The moderating is going pretty well, I like to think :D It can get really busy in Emulation at times, but I've come to expect that :P And even then, there are plenty of times when it's not too busy at all, so I like it. :) It's nearly my year's moddiversary, so I'm glad I managed to at least stick it out for a full year- with intent to continue, of course :P
Ah well, it'd have only been fair for me to respond seeing as you'd done it last. But this has always been the case with me, as I'm sure you've noticed by now :D
Oh yeah, did you ever get the car you'd been seriously wanting all that time? :)
Lol, it's been almost a year. Wow. Last time I talked to you on here was your birthday. :L
Haha, don't worry about it. I accidentally do that all the time. Especially on Facebook. :D
That's awesome to hear, that should be fun. :)
Yeah, I knew it was a while but didn't think it was that long. Time's going too fast. Summer was great! I turned 18 just before it began so we've been going to a lot of nightclubs. I was planning on going out tonight but I'm sick at the moment so I decided to go to bed instead. :L How was yours? The Leaving Cert's finished for good now. It's nice to get that out of the way. :] I never asked you how the moderating was going? Haha, again, no worries. You had your Leaving Cert and you're a moderator here so it's easy to lose track of things. I could have easily sent you another message in the last year too so it's partially my fault too. :)
I actually thought I sent a message MONTHS ago, and that you never responded. Not that I was annoyed at that, because I was terrible for that, but.. :( It'd been me this whole time. Damn it!
Thanks so much, dude, I'm really delighted with how they went. Now just to wait for offers on Monday, hehe.
Anyway, it's been much, much too long, and for that I'm really sorry. How the hell has everything been? 5th year out of the way, how was your summer? I'm so sorry again, it's my fault for not making sure I'd replied. I know that just seems like a dumb excuse, but it's the truth. Thanks again Andrew :)
Okay, I’m going to try to keep the conversation short enough for us to reply using our phones. xD Sorry for taking aaages. School’s totally overloading me with work. I’ve got really good teachers though besides for Irish. I’m going to do Applied Maths outside school too.
That School of Rock thing sounds epic (Yep, I’ve seen the movie). xD I’d love to go to something like that. Awesome. :3 Haha, so have you made a choice on what you want to do? :]
No problem, and yeah, I know what you’re saying. xP I hope you enjoy your day. :] You got a Saturday for your birthday. Nice. xD
Hehehe, nerdy, drunk, it's too hard to find an ordinary photo from a night out :D
My summer was grand, thanks. It was lazy apart from two weeks I spent at a School of Rock (if you've seen the film... That's the general idea). A load of my friends went too, and there was a concert at the end. Nothing major, it was like a family show thing, but it was great fun :P
Yeah, I know what you mean- it'd be a crapload of work, but if I gave it my best shot it'd definately be worth it. Thanks, man, hopefully it will work out. But a good thing this year- EVERYBODY'S going to college in Galway, hahaha. Between friends of mine that are already studying there, friend's from school going this year as well as friends from all over the country going there, I'll definitely spend a few days there this year :D
Right now, I've got the flu, and it's awful. Hopefully it'll feck off soon, as... It's just annoying :D
So, 5th year now, eh? It's going to be different to TY, but all the people in my school who did TY did well in the Leaving, so it's will have been worth it, though you probably know that :P
