They're only impressions though. Best find out yourself. It's still a shame hearing that it's not as good as it should be though. (To be fair the whole medieval and witches thing they're going for had me skeptical.)

Damn really? I was expecting something great. I'll still probably get it but that's a shame.

Import impression about AA vs Layton make me weary. It apparently isn't that good. :( General consensus is that DD is actually better, surprisingly.

Man I can't wait for that game, and yeah I noticed DD is kind of lacking in some of the classic mechanics, although the graphics are pretty stellar.

Yeah Ghost Trick has one awesome art style. But the animations were at the top, Cabanella especially stole the show. Best animations of last gen, with Punch Out Wii and Elite Beat Agents easily.
Also the team that did Ghost Trick and Dual Destinies are actually different. Shu Takumi's team (The AA trilogy) did Ghost Trick, whereas the guys behind Ace Attorney Investigations did Dual Destinies. Shu Takumi had nothing to do with it actually, since his team are busy with AA vs Layton.

I was just looking up ghost trick stuff because I forgot what Lynne looked like, I probably forgot since she looks like Athena and my mind probably thinks its weird for such similar characters to be in similar roles in 2 games by the same company. Ghost trick art style is pretty cool also. I kind of wish they'd bring it back but that's kind of hard due to the resolution.

Yeah. When I saw Athena I felt like she reminded me of something else but couldn't put my finger on it. Fulbright's fashion sense got me curious too.
Then I saw this and it all came together.

Yeah, the part about the gun as well as the fact that it would have been hard to get away [assuming he was blind at the time] up into the air vent when the room was a mess.
BTW did you ever notice this
kinda a cop out lol
January 16th, 2014 7:13 AMSpinosaurus
Didn't the plot holes bug you?
They overstated how much powerful the recoil of the gun is, and then pick a little blind kid as the suspect. That, and he had no motive to kill the victim, and iirc no evidence. Yet they suspected him.
Anyway, Dual Destinies is pretty good. Gonna start on that?

Ended up finishing actually, I thought Case 4 was very good if not too focused on investigation rather than deduction and evidence in the actual trial. Case 3 I thought was okay honestly. The fact that the details of the murder was unknown was its best aspect, probably one of the best of all the series in how they figured out the circumstances of the murder, the motive was very ehhh, almost deus ex machina, plus they didnt even get the cocoon I guess? It's the worst case of the game but I wouldn't say its the worst of all. Also the music in AJ is something else.
January 15th, 2014 6:21 AMSpinosaurus
Are you in case 2? That one is actually alright. Case 1 of that game is the best one, probably the best case 1.
It's the next two case. Case 3 in particular...worst case in the series. Can't wait to see your reaction on the motive of that one.

Yeah Godot is up there in my favorite characters as well, I guess they tried to ameliorate things by saying he was 'freed' in the end. I'm onto Apollo Justice now and honestly I'm liking it a lot, I think they were pretty good about leaving you in the dark about how the murder was carried out, motive, etc where it was easily discernible in the trilogy if you thought about it. That and I like the updated graphics and Apollo, Trucy and Klavier better than their counterparts.
January 13th, 2014 7:18 AMSpinosaurus
How'd you like it?
Yeah the end rubbed me wrong and ruined an otherwise perfect ending. Still the climax was incredible.
I just don't think Godot should have been executed, since all he did was defend a weak person. He SHOULD have been charged for covering the murder, but not executed for the murder.
January 12th, 2014 6:57 PMchampagnepapi
Yeah I just finished T&T and the motive there was pretty weird too, especially because you were getting the vibe that Godot wasn't in the wrong yet he's still going to be executed. Still, the final cases were all very good but I guess I'm just critical when it comes to motive since I want it to all make sense.
January 7th, 2014 7:08 AMSpinosaurus
Yeah his motive wasn't strong (they never explained why he wanted control over both the police and prosecution office to begin with), but he did have one.
Heh now that I think about it, none of the "final" criminals have good motives. Engarde was just an ass, I won't spoil T&T but the motive was weak too. AJ's was so stupid. Dual Destiny's...eh. AAI was Gant except worse. I'd say Von Karma too but AAI2 opened up a very interesting reason for Von Karma to commit everything.
AW is pretty damn great. Pure, addictive strategy. You can get any of them pretty cheap so if you wanna give hem a try you should go ahead.
