From what you say, sounds like a forward left winger. A defender or a midfielder would rarely talk about scoring a hat-trick, corner/free kick headers are usually scored by either forwards or defenders, and the fact that he's placed on the top left zone during kick off pretty much gives it away.
He just seems to play in a defensive-oriented team, that's all.
And this is why, after I looked up the basic information, I decided to ask you. This is really helpful and fascinating!
After watching the two times where he's shown to play, I can try to answer your questions the best I can.
That time he apparently handballed- was he trying to catch the ball to attack or to clear it away? Did he receive a card for it? Which colour?
The game he handballed wasn't any official game. It was just one he was playing for fun with a group of friends. When he tried to catch the ball, he was on the edge of the field in the middle, nearly out-of-bounds. The ball sails overhead, and he has to dive to attempt to catch it.
What does he do primarily? Attacking or defending?
Seems to be mostly defending. But in the only official game he's shown to play, a player on his team kicks the ball at him and he gets a goal by striking with his head just before halftime. A friend says that he can't relax and stop defending, and he responds saying that he'll just perform a hat trick. The conversation goes:
"You're up a point, but you can't just protect your lead. They'll see that and attack."
"No problem! I'll score a hat trick!"
Now this might also help. When the second half is about to begin, he's standing to the left of the player in the center of the field. Does this lead me to the answer?
