Should have figured, considering you're the only one I talked MGS with and mentioned which games I played. Admittedly, MGS4 looks unappealing to me, but I definitely want to give it a try, but it's a bit hard for me considering the backlog and also real life being busy. I did play Metal Gear Rising though, being a fighting/action fan. It's pretty faithful I'd say, the codecs are pretty nice. I'd judge the game on its own merits though since it's a spin off, and while being clearly rushed and flawed, it's still a very solid game with the hypest OST ever.
I'll probably come across as Nintendo fanboy, but here we go
1. Wario Land 4/Warioware Inc (I'm grouping them together if you don't mind)
2. Rhythm Heaven Fever
3. Elite Beat Agents
4. Donkey Kong Country Returns
5. Punch Out!! (Wii)
They're all Nintendo games, and honestly if you think I actually favor them, you're really not off the mark. On the other hand though, my favorite games aren't my favorite because they're Nintendo, in fact I didn't play any of them for being Nintendo. I wasn't into Wario games prior to getting ambassador on the 3DS and giving them one try (since they were free), Rhythm Heaven Fever looked absolutely unappealing to me until someone linked me to a video that made me instantly buy it, Elite Beat Agents I tried since it was cheap as hell and I wanted to see where all the praise is coming from, I actually hated DK prior to DKCR, which took me about 3 tries to eventually love it after having it for a year and a half (was kinda in a platformer itch that time, so i bought it day 1 to scratch it but didn't get into it) and if there's any reason for me to play Punch Out Wii, it's because it's a boxing game about finding out your opponent first and foremost, and being a boxing fan I ate it up. There's also the fact that Punch Out Wii and EBA aren't developed by Nintendo at all, they only published them.
That said, I wouldn't call myself a fanboy. I don't really like considering myself one, and I guess it means I'm not a fanboy by default. Really i don't favor Nintendo for nostalgia (I was a Sony kid anyway), I pretty much find their games to cater what I like the most, over Sony's quantity over quality principle starting with the PS3 and Microsoft's catering to the trends. I don't hate Sony or Microsoft though, I grew up with Sony, and I've been with Microsoft throughout the whole generation. I tend to own every system though if possible, really. There's no favoritism when it comes down to it, I play all my systems and games regularly regardless of the company behind them.
And yes! I was Laughing Octopus on the server not to long ago, hence the MGS conversation. I admit, I've fallen in love with MGS4. It's my favorite entry in the series. It's so uniquely Kojima, while still being polished and tight. MGS5.. I'm excited by default, but recent games like Reveangence (or Rising or whatever) and Ground Zero or Phantom Pain (or whatever again idk) seems to be really diverging from the traditional MGS path; which is something I find myself pulling away from. Still, maybe almost regrettably, I'm going to spend my money anyway.
What would you consider your top five favorite games? And do your opinions on the company who made them effect it?
We talked about it on the server? Lmao what's your name there?
I played MGS1 to 3, and a bit of Peace Walker. 4 is the only main game I haven't played and I don't know if I will to be honest. (I'll try.) I've been sorta keeping up with Kojima, but the more I hear about MGS5 the more disappointed I get so I've been off the loop for a while. Ground Zeroes is basically a 40$ Tanker chapter/Virtuous Mission. :x
Felt more than a year, for me. Don't worry much though, just don't take it too seriously, otherwise you'd eventually hate it like I did. If I were given another chance though, then maybe it'd be different.
So Art, huh? I'd like to be able to draw but if art classes were anything to go by the only form of art I'm good at is martial arts.
