Eh, where I'm at, people will let you walk right up to them. I generally get a chalice or Sightstone as my first item, then build boots, or a Sightstone if I started with a chalice. Alistar is probably the only champ right now that I would feel alright with taking into ranked. I'm just so comfortable on him that it doesn't matter if he's the best or not. If it's one thing he needs, though, it's cooldown reduction. If Riot decreases the cooldown on his Q and W, that would be a major buff by itself.
I'm Slayr231, so I'll add you!
I saw the video, but didn't realize that they added him on the PBE. I don't play on there, but I watched a video of his abilities. Seems really cool, and it looks like we might have another assassin to watch out for.
The main problem I have with Alistar is that unless you somehow get crazy movement speed (I tend to rush mobi boots/Glory) then it's really hard to catch up to people to get your combo off, but I love how once you've caught up it's so hard to get away from him which I love. He's one of my favourite supports but I don't really play him in ranked... I think he could use a little love to get into a more viable spot haha.
My name's Ryudo Squirrel! What's yours? I'll add/accept when I'm next on - will be a few days before I can play properly due to exams but after the 19th I'm free for ages. :D
Have you seen Ekko yet? Just watched my boyfriend try him on the PBE and his damage looks really strong in a pretty cool way - his kit looks very fun haha. Will hop on the PBE tomorrow to give him a test run!
Good map awareness is key on Twitch. The second you see a gank incoming, stealth. Alistar's combo can be difficult, but I can land it about 85%-90% of the time. It takes a few levels for Alistar to become a sustain lane, but if I have to do it, I get a chalice. Sometimes that's not enough of my ADC keeps diving in even though the enemy has already established lane dominance. I think Alistar is at a bad spot in the meta since ranged supports are popular, and without his ultimate he can be quite frail, but no one else provides the sustain and CC that he can, so he's always my first pick. I actually didn't have to go back that often when playing Cho'gath. I was playing with my brother, and I wanted to match his champion to be the void lane, so yeah. I almost always get him fed since we do have a lot of synergy with our play styles, and it worked out really well. I like Cho too, but as a top laner. I haven't tried him mid, but I just imagine the lack of mobility getting to be a real issue when up against champs like Ahri, Zed, Syndra, etc.
I play in the morning, so I'll try to catch you on. What's your summoner name?
Oh I know the stealth itself is fine, it's the nerf on the delay going into stealth that I find annoying haha. I liked being able to randomly pop in and out of existence but now it's a chore just to run away from someone :( Alistar is awesome but his heal definitely needs some loving imo - really isn't noticeable at the early ranks given how much mana it costs haha. Are you good at the WQ combo? I find it so fulfilling to pull off but high ping makes it hard someitmes! (I live in EU but play on NA so standard ping is ~180). Yeahhh that's why I find Cho support strange - he basically seems like a one-time engage before he has to go back to base and half the time he'll just steal the kill XD I used to love Cho, he was my favourite top/mid laner until he got super popular recently, now I find him really boring to play because everyone else has started to as well :(
Ahh I see, well feel free to hit me up if you want to play some time!
At max level, you still have eight seconds of stealth, which you'll hardly ever spend that much time in it anyway. The main reason I like it is because of the attack speed bonus once you pop out of it. Ambush right before a team fight, get into position, pop your ulti, and the enemy team just melts, tanks and all. I've heard he's a lot different from other ADCs, though, so it might take some getting used to. I wouldn't really know since if I'm forced into an ADC role, Twitch is my only choice.
I love Alistar because he's so versatile. He can either be a kill lane, or a sustain lane. His CC is amazing for getting your ADC through ganks, setting up kills, or peeling in team fights. It took me a while to get used to his play style, but once I did, it's rare when I have a bad game. I picked up Nautilus thinking he was going to be my main, since he has more CC, but his CC is lock down, whereas Alistar is more about moving people around, and I really did miss that headbutt when it came to ganks and peeling. Cho'gath is interesting indeed. I wasn't spamming abilities, but getting the occasional knock up and silence in so my Kog'maw could deal some big damage. I started with Relic Shield, so my passive wasn't completely wasted and I could still feast on a minion while still giving the gold to my carry. It worked out really well, but I did get a number of kills and had multiple killing sprees, so maybe not the best for your carry, haha.
I don't mind going up against gold players, as long as I can get support. In the preseason, I was placed into Silver II, but my MMR had me going up against gold V, IV, and eventually III people once I started winning those games. I didn't get to my promotion matches before the ladder reset, but then I stopped playing for a while. I'm just trying to get back to that point now before diving into ranked.
I've honestly not tried him much since the nerfs but I remember how insane his old late-game used to get (seriously which other champion can ace the enemy team using 3 auto attacks?) and I don't think they changed that too much so I may take another look at him soon - the biggest problem for me was the invisibility nerf since that was the most fun part of Twitch, but I guess it did get a little ridiculous facing him sometimes haha.
Ohh I love Alistar, everyone seems to think he's useless but he's one of my favourite supports haha. Cho support is an interesting one, does he have the mana for it without being able to use his passive? :o Personally I play every role a lot in ranked but adc and support are both preferred; my main champs right now are Quinn, Varus, Taric, Garen, Brand (support), Amumu, and a fair few others...! I'm happy to duo with you some time if you want a familiar adc to support through the promos but I'm not sure what level of players we'd be matched against haha.
They nerfed him a lot, but his late game is still absolutely insane, and he snowballs ridiculously hard. If you can get ahead, you're staying ahead. Late game, Twitch just melts everyone, if his team peels for him, that is. I remember being really fed one game, saw the enemy Tristana was farming all by herself, ambushed, and shredded her down in three auto attacks. He needs the right support, though. A tanky melee support with a lot of CC works really well.
I'm an Alistar support main. I can also support with Thresh, Nautilus, and Cho'gath. I play a couple games just about every morning, trying to brush up my skills before I dedicate myself to ranked. I'm 1/2 in my placements so far, and don't want to be stuck in bronze/low silver, since I am a support main. I can jungle decently as well with Wukong or Nautilus, but stick me in a lane, and I belong in cardboard seven, haha.
He definitely is a funny one but I find his humour very... repetitive? He's certainly fun to play though :D He was the first adc I learned so he holds a big place in my heart, shame they nerfed him so much though - he's hardly even worth playing as adc any more which is a massive let down for such a cool champion :(
How much do you play at the moment? What kind of roles/champs do you use? :o
He's the funniest champion in the league! That, and he kind of reminds me of the main character of my current novel attempt. They're both giant rats, but my main character doesn't want to kill your entire family, haha.
Although, don't ask me to play him. I'm a really bad ADC. I can jungle Twitch better than playing him in lane, with jungle Twitch only really working about 50% of the time.
I'll have to see if Relicanth is still viable in the sixth generation. I haven't been battling much since the release of the new gen, although I have done a few battles. I'm waiting for pokebank to open up so I won't be restricted by what pokemon can be obtained in gen 6.
I don't write all that much, or at least put my stuff online. The one thing I do have online right now is more of a sci-fi story. Although it doesn't have fancy gadgets or spaceships, the reason I classify it as sci-fi is because it deals with aliens. Hence the name, Alien Poverty.
I also have a couple ideas for new stories, both dealing with the fantasy realm, so i guess you could classify me as a sci-fi/fantasy writer.
