Admittedly XSE involves a lot less messing around but I don't have the time right now to learn how it works all over again

You do not necessarily have to be the leader, just the founder, tile inserter and mapper? To be honest that involves the best jobs and best title someone else can do the lead work.

Well, I'd get those tiles backed up externally so if the virus messes the PC up atcleastcyou still have those but sweet, awesome man! But yes of course, I'm not going to post them about or anything, they just look like a fun way to pass the time and create some intense looking maps

Yeah I've heard of this XSE/Pokescript division of hackers. xD

No, I didn't spend 2 years to release it in the public, and as for a hacking team, I was never born a leader, to be honest..

Currently the PC that has the ROM has a virus and I'm trying to fix it, but if I ever get over it, I'll lend you the tiles. You can practice with them - the tileset was made exactly for mapping. But I don't want them running around the section, k?

Everyone uses this new program called XSE for scripting, I'm old school and still use a program called PokeScript from years back, haha.

Man there is no way you can let such an intense looking ROM base go to waste!? Have you considered finding a new hack team or releasing it as a ROM base?

Well your years of work looks like it as paid off. Any chance I could have a nosey around and play with the tiles and that on a ROM base? I won't steal or post anything to do with your tiles, I just think they look like the perfect Tileset, cant let it all go to waste because someone left dude?

the thing is I don't even know how to script. I'm sure I would be able to learn fast, but lol it's just not worth it anymore.. I mean I have taken a massive turn into Pokemon - from wanting to create my own game to reliving previous games such as Crystal or Emerald or Platinum (remakes that are bound to appear). But from time to time I get inspirations for new maps as well.

I see, I see. It's great to see that kind of ambition in people, because I lost it long ago. xD

Oh yes, it wouldn't quite work out. Besides, I've dumped the project... help won't just be enough, trust me. Thanks for your kind comments though, I've worked hard on the tileset/finding and adjusting tiles to my style to fit in a single primary tileset. In fact, that's what I've been doing the past two years, ever since you left hacking.. lol, 0 actual in-game progress.

I'd have to say I'm quite the same, I'm not really one for scripting or title screen hacking and all that, I just love mapping and that's what I always end up doing well ahead of myself in contrast to scripting which is time consuming and borng.

I just wanted to create a hack that I could reach at least the Hacks Showcase with and maybe complete. I have so many ideas so it's likely I'll complete it.

It's a shame your friend left, I would offer to help but seeing as mapping is a passion we share and we don't enjoy much else then it wouldn't work out too well.

Regardless though, Aegis' graphics as a whole, just looks brilliant I can do basic scripting (As I'm sure you can), but that's all I can offer aside from mapping skills :L

I was aiming at that, yeah.

No. After all these years, I've decided I'm not quite the hack-maker. So I'd rather work for somebody, purely focusing on maps; having to keep track of every other aspect of the hack is just TOO tiring, time consuming and generally draws alot of my inspiration for maps. That's why I prefer to just be useful by working for old friends of mine, like linkandzelda ('ve known him almost 2 years, anyway).
When Aegis was still active, I had a powerful ally on my side that would help me focus by being in charge of everything else, but he left eventually, so...

I see you have a hack. It seems interesting, out of screenshots, but I'd prefer playing the full beta, when it comes out.

Wow, looks like a DS hack from that single tease of a picture...

Man forget Liquid Cyrstal, we want Aegis ;D ha. It's one of the few hacks I've looked forward to playing just from a few map shots etc.

Yes, of course I remember you, lol

It is indeed FireRed, all tilesets made by me. But Aegis is on hold for now and I am currently mapping for Linkandzelda's Liquid Crystal.

Sup man, any idea who I am?

Not sure if you remember, I think it's when you first started ROM Hacking you came to me (Dale) in need of help for mapping with a hack? I think that was back when I hacked under the name Kingfisher309 9I was on YouTube)? We used MSN (Back in the day...) for contact? Haha!

Either way, your mapping skills are amazing now mate. Are you working on Aegis? I'm currently half way (Well just over) a solo hack, but the tiles and that on Aegis look ace. What ROM base is it? No way can that be Firered/Leafgreen, looks what too good for that... Anyway, hope to hear from you soon!
