Oh if it rains I usually try to avoid outdoors all together. If it's hot then I look for shade. Sometimes a really strong gust would blow away a few papers from my folder. After that I abondoned writing on paper. Don't seem to carry notebooks that much anymore.
lol I'm not a tree hugger. Well, I love being outdoors, but I don't think I would be able to devote much time perched on a tree, protesting the lumber indrustry.
Oh yeah It's annoying how many teens I've caught smoking weed and underage drinking. Ha, its a pretty sucluded place to be in. Away from controling parents and police. You can also run into the occasional bum. Mountain loins aren't a problem but you would still need to looking out for them. This one guy got mauled by one a few years ago.
Thanks! I'll probably let you know in the nearby future to help me with a chapter. Right now I'm already getting help from friend to kick off my first chapter. I'll definitely ask you to look at my second one. After that I hope I can do it independently. I want to be able to surprise all my readers. Although I have yet to write a second chapter. Oh I'm going to start reading and reviewing fan fiction again, your right! I do need to look at more people's work.
As for me I started writing fan fiction because I used to draw way too much. I found more enjoyment in drawing stories than writing them. After a while I wanted to express more creativity through writing. I used to watch pokemon and I'd ask myself how would it be If this did happen? What would happen if pokemon was more violent, more like traditional anime. (This was also when I got into anime.) So I decided to write these stories. I actually enjoyed writing again! (This was before I knew I was writing fan fiction) Then I stumbled upon this site. Forgot how though. :/
I like to write outdoors. Although, yeah I do write in my room too, but I get more inspiration when the wind is actually blowing in my face. I try to find the quietest spot in the park and just write. When I'm home I usually listen to music on my ipod to get me in the mood, then I quiet down. I don't have cable in my room lol. So T.V isn't a problem for me. I've been wanting to camp out in the mountains nearby alone so I could write up a few chapters. Since it's summer vacation and all. I think I'll do just that in a few more weeks. I just need a car x_x lol I could hike, but It would take me a whole day to get there. Gotta watch out for crazies doing drugs and mountain loins. Hahaha. I think the greatest writing is when you actually experienced what you write about.
I'm in community college now, I've been drawing for as long I could remember. I only got into writing after I graduated high school, which was last summer.
Wow. You were inspired to continue writing after you read some of my story? Hm. I never thought my story would have that kind of affect on people, though I'm honestly glad you didn't give up writing, especially if you enjoy it so much. Don't let your dreams die.
Ah. So you're still a pretty new writer. If you want, you could link me to this story of yours that you're writing, and I'd be willing to give you some constructive criticism and such. If you practice writing every day, then you'll definitely improve, but it's also good to read a lot to see how other writers do things; how they describe characters or setting, how they do pacing; see what works and doesn't work. I figure the key to good writing is knowing when and when not to do something, but it's a fine line either way. Also can I ask, what is your reason for writing?
Now for a backstory.
I started writing when I was in grade seven, and I've long finished High School now. I discovered fan fiction when I was in grade six or seven, and I felt suddenly compelled to start writing fables of my own. You have no idea how bad my "first story" was. NO IDEA. Really, reading it now, it's so horrible, yet funny, I have no idea what to make of it. I only started writing seriously when I got into High School, around grade ten specifically (my stoner english teacher always liked my journals). White Heart Black Bones is my first massive story, and the first real story I'm writing from start to finish (There's another fan fic I have, a Gundam one, that I'm not sure counts as a real, finished story). It'll be a glory day when I finally write the ending chapter to WHBB, but it's a long haul until then. Well, I'm enjoying it. Speaking of which, I have a new chapter I need to post. I hope you enjoy reading the rest of my story.
Anywho. I usually write downstairs on the laptop in the kitchen, mostly for the keyboard and internet access (my computer upstairs is internet free. Want to keep it that way.) I like the keyboard on my laptop because all the keys are on a set level with the laptop base, unlike the one I have upstairs, which makes it easy to write for me. Sometimes it's hard to write down here though, because my mom is usually in the next room over watching TV, and I can't stand that background noise of people talking. I don't know what it is, I just don't like TV and radio drone. It's usually kept down so I don't really notice it, but I often plug in headphones and listen to some sort of ambient drone music without lyrics to keep my ears occupied. Haha, although, it can't be a upbeat song or one with lyrics or else I'll get distracted. I also often procrastinate on the internet. With all the time I spend dicking around on forums, it's a miracle I get anything done. I manage somehow though. However, most of my ideas happen when I'm upstairs listening to music. That......................is where the magic happens. ehehehhe.
Yeah, I read the first four chapters of White Heart Black Bones. After that I took off with my laptop and began writing. Your story sounds like something I wanted to write about. I almost gave up writing all together before I read your story. I like writing a lot and I do practice everyday.
I'm trying to write a new fan fiction right now. It's been in the works since Jan. and I still don't know where it might end up. My next fic is mostly inspired by your story. I've been writing since Dec. 2011, that's when I discovered fan fiction in general. I do need to catch up on your fic though :p It's been a long time.
Ah, I see. Chances are I'll get it eventually then. Thank you kindly for your support, good chap. I'm glad you regard my writing so highly, it pleases me to hear such things. But I'm sure there are certain things that you can write better than me. Just remember, if you practice vigorously then improvement is imminent. How long have you been writing for?
It's alright if you can't review. Reviews are nice, but they aren't the main reason I write story-o's. As long as someone, somewhere is getting a sense of enjoyment out of my fables then my mission is accomplished. Oooh. Do I inspire you to write as well?
You can keep running until you grab the spot. I'll be sure to leave you a nomination again, but really your writing is 10x's better than anything I could ever hope to write. I think you have a good chance for July? I try to review, but I think most of my info is redundant. I usually only add people if I love their writing. I like to keep up with writers who inspire me to write in some ways. Now wasn't that corny? :P
Yeah. I'm oblivious to this kind of stuff. I usually only come on this site once every blue moon to dump a new chapter, then I'm off again to the faraway hills, so I didn't even know. It's even more interesting that I almost won it. Ember Days... your time on this earth is short... hurhur.
Can fics be nominated for fic of the month more than once, or have I missed my chance? Oh well. Such is life.
*Hugs* lol. Yeah here's the link to the voting poll. From there you can check out the story you tied with. I'm an internet detective. Just call me Looker. Blah, horrible joke. I'm a bit shocked you didn't know you almost got fic of the month. :/ http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=271534
You nominated my fic for fic of the month, and I almost got it!? That happened!? Whoa. I'm still learning the ropes of this place, I hadn't even realized that you'd done such a thing. But, sweet child, I am simply flattered that you think my story holds fic of the month potential :D I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A BRO HUG. C'MERE YOU!! No seriously, come here.
Perhaps one day I shall reach the fic of the month position, but for now I wander on. Although, I'm surprised my story almost got fic of the month. I didn't even think people were still reading it on here, though I had a vague idea, since the view count was rising every time I updated. Speaking of which, what story was I tied with for fic of the month?
Leia >_< Hey remember when I nominated your fic for best fic of the month? I think you were robbed of a that title. Because that decision came down to the mods and the mods nominated one that tied with yours. That sucks. I've always wanted to take it up with them. But in the end of the day that's just life, huh.
