I kinda started off with learning basic phrases from print-outs off the internet. After a while, I picked up this handbook and began with hiragana and katakana. I can say today that I'm still not quite fluent in reading or speaking, but I'm getting there. :)

Yup I agree! Look at the positive side more often! It makes things much, much better~ And don't worry, I've only been to the U.S. once before when I was very young, so I didn't have any bad experiences (or enough of it) to dissuade me. :)

Nahh you're not weird! Well, if you're weird, that makes me weird too xD I agree on everything you said. Japan is one of my most favourite countries in the world. <3 There are so many things I love about Japan I can't possibly put it all down here. As for the language, I've been in love with it for many years and I'm now learning Japanese as a subject where I'm studying now. (Though my semester's ending and I might not continue the next semester, sadly..><)

Well,yeah,every country has good and bad about it,I guess it just comes down to what you're willing to deal with versus what you can't stand for. My saying that the U.S isn't all that great essentially boils down to the experiences that i've had here,and my personal opinion,don't let it dissuade you.

Japan has such rich culture and traditions,they are very respectful,and still believe in honor. The land is beautiful,the food amazing,the architecture is breathtaking! (I'm weird,I know.)
I fell in love with the language as soon as I heard it....well,that's just to name a few things. :D

Oh..I see..I understand. :/ I'm sure other countries have problems of their own though, not just the U.S.~ Besides, it's your home country; perhaps show a little more..patriotism, even if you have to fake it? Haha.. Maybe in the future, you could migrate to other parts of the world if you still dislike living where you are. No, it's alright. You need to let these things out sometime. Looks like that sometime was just now haha.

It's the culture,or lack there of....no tradition,a bad obsession with people like "Justin Beiber",a huge proportion of the people being obese because they won't stop eating crap-food,ganstas,an ungodly amount of racism,constant judgement of others...uun....sorry... -.-"
