To be honest, I'm not too sure about the world outside of the retirement community. I think it's pretty average out there, but we have so many old people that it might tip the scales a little bit.

Hmm... does the bulk of the populace in your hometown consist of the elderly?

Same, actually. I would much rather be dead than using my feet to crawl around a nursing home in a wheelchair and screaming nonsense that only my children would be able to understand.

This is why I don't like getting older. The brain starts to slowly deteriorate to the point where one becomes slowly insane, where they can't control their own actions. If I were to reach that point, death would be like mercy...

At times. And they're in there for the rest of their lives. If I get called to clean a room because a new person is moving in, then I know that the previous person died. Probably while they were in that room, too.

Makes you feel more like you're in a mental ward rather than a nursing home?

Yep. I much prefer the retirement community to the nursing home, but I get overtime for working there. The elders at the nursing home really bum me out. Most of them are mentally gone. The last time I was there, there was this old lady who constantly screamed OH ME OH MY for 45 straight minutes

Let me hazard a guess: is the said nursing home made specifically for the elderly?

It does. I live in a retirement community and I clean for some of the residents. The agency that I work through also has ties with the local hospital so sometimes I clean there or in the adjacent nursing home. Cleaning cleaning cleaning cleaning cleaning.

Say, you're a communal housekeeper... does that mean that you clean other people's houses?
