March 13th, 2013 05:41 AMKuraYou can use a lamp. You don't need fancy equipment to play around with lighting.
Light on/off doesn't matter. What I'm saying is that there's no highlights or low-lights.
The second has more contrast, therefore, you have more focus on the center of interest. Yes, this was cheated a bit through photoshop (most likely) but my point still stands.
March 13th, 2013 05:35 AMForeveroh actually the light wasn't on, so I had to basically do it in the shaded dark somewhat. i want to get my own lighting, yeah, but that involves getting equipment i can't really get right now - but i do appreciate the comments. :) i'll show you some other stuff you could comment on later, if that's okay?
aand we're told to save everything as raw ;;
March 13th, 2013 05:27 AMKuraIf you want crit: there's not enough contrast or shadow on either of them. Looks like you just turned on a main light for the room and snapped some shots.
Try setting up your own lighting :3
If you don't want crit, ignore the above and I hope you're enjoying your class.
No point to save it as a raw at this point that you're just fiddling around. Though make sure your white balance is set correctly if you're gonna turn it off.
March 12th, 2013 09:38 PMForeverya our assignment for studio work is all about lighting which is very exciting! i love what we've seen in class so far and i can't wait to actually use the lighting equipment myself :3
also hmmm i might show you a few images i took earlier! depends tho on how lazy i am because it's saved as raw and i need to manually open each one :(
March 12th, 2013 04:14 PMKuraNow the fun time begins where you get to experiment with lighting!
March 11th, 2013 11:59 PMForeverthis cameraaaaa is funnn :3 but harder than non-dslr because it's not auto-everything lool. but i like it!!
November 27th, 2012 10:45 AMKuraLook around for different places? Or get your own IPL handheld machine that they sell? Dunno how safe those are though.
I know in the UK it's really expensive it's about double here... I quoted just for underarms back in Canada. I know one session for full bikini is about 90 bucks. I don't know what else you want done.
My justification is if I have to get it waxed professionally somewhere.. it'd cost $10 just for underarms.. times that by every 2-3 weeks and you're thinking about 250 bucks a year. Why do that when I can have it permanently gone for a hundred or so more dollars?
If you shave though, and don't mind shaving, it's up to you.. because in the long run, razors are cheaper.
And.. "ever letting you have it done" is nonsense. You can always have it done eventually, even if you are old. The only downfall is that it wont work on white hair.
November 27th, 2012 06:52 AMForeverOh I thought I replied to this! Nevertheless, I do appreciate it. I dunno for here it's apparently $600 or something? But that's... putting Pop/Nan off from ever letting me get it done which is quite annoying. ;( Is there any other way I could get it cheaper idek.
November 25th, 2012 06:46 AMKurayeah it's fine. I got a Diode laser done because I have fair skin and very dark hair (I'm a dark brunette) but I only got to do 4 of my 6-8 sessions.. because I had to move to the UK. Just make sure they're a certified laser technician. I went to sanctuary spa which is a very upscale spa, and it was because some lady that did her bikini recommended it to me. For me it costed about.. 35- 40 bucks per session? I sorta did a pay as you go thing. I didn't get a package of one large payment. Check around as you may be able to do some free consultations. I had a consultation with IPL.. but they just seemed more expensive and takes more sessions. IPL is better if you have lighter hair though, but for me that wasn't a concern so I could just go Diode laser.
It was more of a concern to me because shaving really irritates my skin so I have to wax all the time.. and it's annoying to have to wait for the hair to grow a certain length to wax it off. That's why I got my underarms done. I wanted to get full bikini done too by the time I decided I wanted it done, I had no time.
