Well hey, you could always join or collaborate with a news agency like Reuters, AFP or Getty and sell them pics for all of us overseas media to use. Or become a provider for a newspaper or something. That's a good way to make money from pics.
It's a shame people are so conditioned to think "yuck" of politicans when... well, they decide your basic day-to-day opportunities and whether you can, say, marry, apply for a job there or how much taxes you have to pay :( Especially when Australia has mandatory voting. Last year I was manning a polling station and it was so sad to see people asking me how to vote because they weren't sure about how to and... why don't they teach this sort of stuff in schools?
The problem is that the Hansons in the world rise thanks to people feeling like politics doesn't matter, or angry at the "stablishment"... and that's what could change if people got more involved instread of resorting to protest-voting :(
Ya, I already do small time events for the mag but I really wanna do stuff like press conferences more often. I don't entirely know where I'm headed but I know it involves taking photos for important things lol And nah my bf and I split it, so it was technically $50 each. I was gonna do that but the odds for Turnbull were so low that it was pointless lol
Ikr. Like I posted about it on a local group letting ppl know that Shorten was nearby... and everyone was like "throw an egg" "yuck" etc. Nobody I know.. cares or wants to read about it. I know I don't care to write about it but if I could photograph politicians.. THAT would be cool. And yes to less trump. But we have pauline hanson and katter so......yeah.
Ahaha. You had backup :P Well, you are young and starting and the pics were nice enough as is, so you can do more in the future probably! Especially if you get better with betting. A$100 is a lot to lose in a bet but u_u Next time bet against what you want it to happen so you have something to cheer you up instead of being doubly disappointed! I learnt that from football bets in the past.
And good. More people should care about politics tbh. We'd have less Trumps and Brexits if they did. And I'd have less things to write about but I could survive.
ty C: Well I took my boyfriend with me because it was like I'm not going on my own BUT IF YOU COME IT'LL BE GREAT. He didn't wanna come but he was like ok fine. He didn't mind it but I felt out of place with all the journos and camera men lol My photography equipment is nowhere near as expensive as even the other photographers there but I'm cheap and getting there eventually.
I like bet $100 ($100 bonus bet too) on Labor winning. If they got over the line I would've won 1500. :( It's super depressing lol And yeah Turnbull will be out next election so idm but I WANTED THE MONEY. ;_;
Oh yea I signed up to join the party a few days ago, waiting for ~approval~ which'll hopefully be.. soon.
Well the pics are really damn nice- I can easily see the first one illustrating an article on the post-election shenanigans. And hah, that took some courage to just say "okay I'm going" but the results are nice so good job.
I have been following the election lately (lmao I remember looking at the results and commenting them with you about 6 years ago) just because I had seen summaries of how the situation was and saw Labor (the party who can't spell) could win so I was excited. They didn't but Turnbull crashed and burnt even if he's clinging to power so that's worth it. Better than our elections last month where the conservatives were the moral winners even if they don't have enough seats to do anything.
(I'm a member of the Spanish Socialist Party and a supporter for all Social-Democrat/Labour parties everywhere so you are welcome here haha)
Most recent post!
I decided to go cuz I was like reading election news and saw that he was gonna be nearby. I then decided that I wanted to see him cuz when else would I get to see him irl (labor supporter sooo). Then I decided OK psyduck it I'm gonna take photos too. I wanna be able to get a good shot of him. AND BOO I DID. LOOK AT THAT MUK.
I'd like to see! Although the whole concept confuses me because the Nationals are in Government so I don't know if by "National opposition leader" you mean the leader of the Nationals, Joyce (who is deputy PM), or the opposition leader of your nation, aka Shorten.
Also what prompted you to go to that conference? :p
