That's a good question and the awnser is that you have to battle 2 pokemon each. You should be battling a total of four.

quick question, if I do a double battle with the grunts will I have to battle 2 pokes each or just 1 for each grunt

. Try to make your posts AT LEAST as long as Sasuneuchiha's. I have been unable to grade Twilight Requiem's posts because of length and accuracy problems.
