Look, I'm perfectly fine with Azure Horizons winning the HotY. It holds a very high spot on my list of favorite hacks and there is no doubt in my mind that it is worthy of the title Hack of the Year. I just wish that the selection of judges was a little more diverse, that's all.
I would have posted this in the HotY thread but I'm afraid that people are starting to think of me as that guy. You know, the one who doesn't like the outcome of something and then proceeds to go complain and whine about it.
Yeah I've been meaning to fix the 1 block thin path at the north entrance. I hate that I've used the green paths and the white path near the bottom is really annoying. I just have a fear of empty space that I can't get over. I like empty space in other peoples maps but I can't stand it in my own. :/
I think I did the sign that way just to fill up some space. I'm not sure which way would look better, I'll have to try your way out.
The only parts I don't like are those few sections where the player only has one block to move on. Other than that, I think it's great. A couple tile errors here and there but nothing all that bad.
Oh the way you used that sign outside the central building is wrong. Well, it works but in the official games it's displayed over two blocks. It's kinda hard to explain but you can see what I mean in this picture.
I don't know if I agree though. Looking at the whole thing full on it looks alright but when I look at it in parts it looks really weird to me. I don't like the mountain shapes either. :(
It must be hard giving up modship. Even if it wasn't enjoyable, giving up power is never easy (at least not for me).
I hope you're making the right decision, but knowing you, I'm sure you've thought this through.
Good luck with everything
I meant to reply to that before I closed the thread but I forgot. I discussed it with the other mods and you're right we aren't going to change the system. Thanks for understanding.
Hello there,
Could you just forget about my idea regarding the reform of the HotM system? I've been thinking about it lately and it just doesn't seem like a very realistic nor effective system. I believe that sticking with the old system for deciding eligible hacks would be the best choice. I'm not sure if you were even considering my idea in the first place but the more I think about it, the more I realize that it isn't going to work very smoothly. So unless you were actually planning on incorporating it (of which I am highly doubtful), I'd recommend that you just don't worry about it. I'm sure you've got enough problems to worry about what with balancing being a moderator and your real life. Don't let something so trivial get in the way of more important issues.
Thanks in advance,
Colcolstyles
