Download a copy of AIM to first make the account. Then uninstall it and use any universal IM client (I recommend Pidgin: http://www.pidgin.im/ ), so you can use it with other IM accounts like Yahoo! and MSN.
I shall join. :D Seems interesting. I think I will have fun with this. I believe I'd be able to help in all writing-related aspects as well, just so you know.
AIM - I don't have one... but was planning on getting one anyway. Which one should I download and use, if there is a specific one?
Oh, and just throwing this out as well - I also do have some experiance in programming as well... albeit nothing with the programs related to such Pokemon Fan-made games, I don't believe. :/ I wouldn't mind maybe also helping out beyond in writing as well (like suggests for trainers/events, etc). But we can discuss further. :0
My e-mail is [email protected] - if there are programs or what-not that I need, send it to that.
If you saw the screenshots, I basically need people to write dialogue and in-game text in a similar style to what I have. Yes, you can use your imagination on what the NPC's should say. Yes, you're allowed to be funny (meant to be for a teen or older audience so some mature content allowed).
The game started out as a standard Pokémon game, but we're trying to make it more than that, with new sources of entertainment and overall a 360 experience. That means everything from useful Pokémon information to NPC's telling jokes to useless trivia being posted on the wall furniture. Even religion, politics, philosophy, and science are all fair game.
We're also going a little bit beyond the usual and doing creative writing. If you can write poetry and such, you have a place in our game.
I will provide you with all the necessary resources to do work. You don't need to spend money on any software or anything.
IM me (AIM: InMooseWeTrust) or email me [email protected]. To join the game development staff, you have to have an AIM account because right now that's our primary mode of communication.
Really the only requirement to join the game staff is to have good writing skills, especially superior grammar, spelling, and rhetoric.
Hmm... well, upon having a look at it, it actually does interest me, I have to say. I wouldn't mind some more info though, such as what exactly you'd want me to write (just what the trainers say and so forth, or part of the storyline as well, the 'style' (dead-pan serious or some comedy involved (I'd be FAR more interested if the latter was the case), etc...), and where you want your game to go. Asking for me to be a 'writer' is all well and good, but I'm unsure about the specifics.
But yes - I am interested. Any chance for a PM with more information? And how much involvment will be required (I have my own personal projects as well). Then I'll make up my mind. Also, I do wonder why you PM'd me as well - any reason to it, or just a random pick?
