Well apparently there isn't a reason XD One year in the early 20th century someone decided that eating grapes every one of the 12 times the clock strikes at midnight would be fun or whatever and people started doing it... and so it became a tradition XD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXwHcPm_xF8#t=978
Yeah though 2 hours isn't too bad. I had ground floor neighbours who would play loud music all through the night up to 6-7 AM.. like literally no sleep. Luckily they're gone now. But yeah it's irritating. I wish everything was soundproofed because I am really sensitive like you. I find it hard to fall asleep, as well! ;_;
I've never heard that tradition! Why grapes might I ask??
Oh that is sooo cool!! Yeah I'm certainly crossing my fingers for you so good luck!! Keep me updated yeah?? Wheeee exciting!!! I really do hope you have an opportunity to show your talents <3
Well, it was because I usually wake up at 8, so that meant two hours less, and I always find it so hard to fall back asleep afterwards D/
And yeah, I can imagine. When I was in Argentina, I was in the middle of the party, trying to do the midnight tradition of eating 12 grapes as the clock hits 12 while everybody was just hugging each other XD It felt so weird.
I am pretty excited too! This guy has created two successful newspapers in the last 30 years so he certainly knows his trade. Plus he said he was looking for at least 35 young people who hadn't had a proper work before so I fit. I just know that if I get an interview, I'll get the job for sure, so that's what I'm hoping for. And this is his project plan in English: http://www.elespanol.com/arponero/le...-change-spain/
You're usually super early to rise anyway no? So hopefully it wasn't much of a problem :3 And that sounds wonderful! I was actually a bit homesick during my holidays.. as some of my traditions are quite a lot different than the ones Will's family has. (Like in Canada we only have fish on Christmas Eve and having hot chocolates by the fire, opening 1 present from our secret santa on xmas eve.. etc.)
Oooh that is SO exciting! Wow.. one of the biggest editors in Spain? That's amazing! Seriously, good luck but I have a feeling you'll deffo get it! Keep me updated!! :333 Do you have more info on it?
And glad to hear you are better! I had an acceptably good Christmas, with family and all... but specially being at a beach town, far away from the pollution in the capital, does wonders, even if I had an obnoxious neighbour who would always wake me up at like 6 AM... but well, you get some, you lose some :P
I have applied to a new newspaper starting up in a few weeks and I'm pretty excited, they are looking for young but talented people and I definitely fit in there and I'd love to see a new project start from scracth- it's also led by one of the biggest editors in Spain so I'd have a lot to learn too. Hoping for an interview in a few weeks.
I have a blog I set up now, too! :3 bitesizedkitchen.wordpress.com! It's just started but hopefully I'll be posting more soon!!
And omg I thought I replied to you I'm sooo sorry! Yeah deffo better now but at the time I actually had a horrible fever back a few days after I met you guys and was home sick from work for nearly that whole week @_@..
BUT... BETTER NOW YAAYY! What've you been up to? How was your xmas????? TELL MMMEEEEE?
