Charging up from 0% all the way up to 100% can take a long time, but it's what I had to do. Thank Windows Memory Diagnostics for being able to give the system some sort of load at boot time.

I noticed a performance improvement from upgrading. Lion was a buggy mess.

Sometimes what works best is what's ideal. If it ain't broke, don't do anything.

Yeah I've just double-checked. It can.. just. It's the last supported model. However - I can't think of any technical advantage Mountain Lion has over Snow Leopard at the moment. All they've done is add features from iOS so far as I can tell, and not actually updated the system itself.

(I think your MBP can't upgrade to Mountain Lion... what year?) Oh, it can. Nevermind.

I think I'm actually glad that I went into Macs in 2012, not 2002, since there are no PPC apps that I need.

That's possibly the most amount of status icons I've ever seen. o.O

Mountain Lion huh? I'm not really sure about upgrading, so I'm still on Snow Leopard. Mostly for the Rosetta support since I still have a few PPC apps that haven't been updated.

    Here's mine:

I think I have icon overload.

Even I think I should be running something. Hopefully, you had at least the OS X's built-in firewall open.

Also, BRB taking snapshot of the laptop running OS X

I don't - I should, but I don't. tbh i've never had a malware problem on any of my Macs so it doesn't seem necessary.

Ooooh. I still have a soft spot for old computers.

I still remember when laptops lasted barely over an hour unplugged.

Do you run anti-malware services on your MacBook Pro?

I need to do battery calibration soon. Something's off with the meter.

It wasn't new when I bought it; it was second hand (couldn't afford a new one). I've already replaced the battery twice, since the first one was faulty, and it was half-charged, plus I did a few battery cycles before using it for real. Also I don't think the battery life on the 2008 models are 7 hours... more like 5, or 3 if I run it on High Performance mode.
