Lol, they sure know how to pick their times. The IRC channel was getting trolled a bit too. The guy c+p'ed the first paragraph or so of what he wrote in LeSabre's fic and ended up flooding himself out twice. He quit out the third time, so I don't know what's going on now.
I've been doing a little bit of stalking, and there's a bit too much bawwing over threads being closed. Seriously, they don't seem to realize why it was closed. They just think you're being mean or something. And that is ridiculous.
Anyway, I hope you are able to deal with this and don't go crazy and kill us all or something. Long, awkward-sounding sentences ftw.
My reaction is more like "i just got done working i want to eat play my sims and then go to bed i have a headache baaaaaaaaaaw". Instead, I kind of have to keep refreshing the forums just to see what new fun! and exciting! joys have occurred.
I am kind of amused at the timing. These two weeks are my busiest time at work, so I'm not home as often as I used to be. And yet, here come the trolls and the murderous(?) people.
I thought of that as soon as I signed off and went to bed. That the red font interfered with readability. I guess that the lack of a "default font plz" rule can be explained by the "readability plz" rule.
I have a quick question about the rules. Was the rule about messing with fonts and colors taken out? I tried looking for it in the rules thread, but it seems to be absent. Also, you ninja'd me while I was typing up a review for that Grovyle fic. >.< Luckily, I checked the status of it before I got too far.
Ah yes, Guitar Hero. I've played everything up to Guitar Hero: Metallica excluding DS titles. My personal favorite of what I've played so far is GH2, with GH:M coming as a close second. I think my preference is based on difficulty, though. I find that I play the more difficult songs more often than the easy ones.
On the topic of versions that you may like, if you have a PS2, you may be able to find Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80's somewhere. I loved that game, and really wish they had ported it to the xbox 360. The songs on it were catchy and really fun to play. You may also be interested in Guitar Hero 3. that one had the largest variety, with songs ranging from Slow Ride to Raining Blood. The number of lighter songs far outnumbers the number of heavy songs, which is good if you aren't a fan of heavy stuff. I think there's maybe five or six songs in the career setlist which I consider to be heavy, and of those, "One" by Metallica and "Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden are included.
If you're picky with music, I would suggest checking out the setlist of the games before buying one. Scorehero.com has a list of songs in every game released so far, but the last time I checked, they didn't list the artist's name with the song. It should be fairly easy to find one on Google, though.
All this talk about Guitar Hero makes me want to play, and my friend hasn't returned my xbox to me yet T_T.
Since I was staring at your sig for a while in a thread, I saw that a conversation about Guitar Hero would be a good conversation with you.
So, which Guitar Heroes have you played? I only have Decades and Band Hero for the DS. Mainly because I dropped all my money on Rock Band: Beatles. I am looking for more games like Guitar Hero though. Any particular ones I should look into, especially as I am a fan of 80's and early 90's music?
Merry two-day-late Christmas! My life has been absorbed the last two days by online games and I haven't had much motivation to open my browser save for account activation on a game! And yay! for me missing a thread blow up! Wait... why did I say yay! to that? I LOVE WITNESSING THREADS BLOW UP!!!1!one!!!!11!!!!
Ahh, I see, something I need to read more to figure out. I can't wait =D
Now, just need to find these books somewhere close and/or put them on christmas list...
EDIT: Oh, I had known about the ansible, I just thought it was odd that there were pilots in the ships, yet Ender was telling his toon leaders what to do. My first thought was that the toon leaders were only pretending to be controlling the ships, but then I remembered that Petra had blanked out and the ships hadn't moved. I'll just see if my question is answered in a later book. Thanks for the explanation though!
EDIT 2: Hmm, at the speed of light? If it were going the speed of light, then if they were communicating over one light year, would it not take one year for the message to get across? I'm thinking it's instantaneous communication that transcends light speed. That's probably what you meant by light speed though.
It's technology that the humans got the ideas for from the Formics. (What I'm used to calling the Buggers because that's what they're known by in the later books, and that's what I've been writing fanfiction on.) Instant communication called the ansible. It's better explained in later books, since it becomes an important part of the later Ender books. But it's a way to send out thoughts and words by the speed of light, pretty much, through space. So the squad leaders were "telling" the pilots what to do.
The later books explain it better than I can. I'm much better at the characters. XD
