I fixed it. I manned up and started over. TRhanks for all the help, I wish I could return the useful info.

It worked... sort of. I can't get my first savestate to accept the save, but the new one says save was succesful, but when I reset the rom it gives me the new game option. I'm screwed aren't I?

the problem isn't set in stone, just very hard to undo (written on the stone with chalk, if you will). open SG, hold shift and press F1. now delete your save file. load the game, and press F1 at the title screen. now make sure the save settings are correct. if they are, save the game.

So, we return to my orginal issue. SG. I think I screwed myself because I didn't change the settings before the first time I opened the ROM thus setting the save issue in stone.

It does this for all of them though.

first, go the hack's forum, and see if they mention this problem.
second, make sure it didn't create a second .sav file, with a new name.
third, if it said that the save file was corrupt, change the name of the rom, and the name of the .sav file so they are the same.
