  • YES I REMEMBER YOU I WAS READING THE OLD WH THREADS THE OTHER DAY AND I THOUGHT ABOUT YOU
I've been good how have you been I MISS YOU
    It's fine, I understand. I disappear once in a while too :) And you're welcome :p
No, I was talking about Sporting CP, though my hometown's club is in a similar crappy situation, but in the second league (and not close to being as good). Oh the suffering :(

I don't really know much of the MLS, though I sometimes get some glimpses of the results and sometimes the goals. There are good players in there, but there's not much international attention given to it. I don't really know if it's easy to follow the league in there because there's so many sports you guys follow on TV.

Hehe, I'm a crappy player though. Maybe that's because I can't do well when I don't have space to play and we play mainly inside. It's been a while since I last played - one of the tolls Uni takes on me. But watching football is amazing as well, so :D
Yeah, that is pretty much seen on the team I support - the manager wasn't really good and we were having some trouble in the higher staff of the club, and then they were playing some crappy football - but we know really well how good they are. We have an impenetrable wall as a goalkeeper, a defensive midfielder that cleans everything that comes to him and knows how to play a ball, wingers with good technique and a striker that can score like 25 goals per year - but if the team's playing crappy, none of them can show their full potential. Except for the goalkeeper - he's constantly saving us from doom, and the striker that manages to score a few balls that actually get to the front.

My left foot is a big zero, so I couldn't do it. :P I don't exactly "play" tho, I just like to have a couple of matches with my friends.
I got used to watch the players' playing styles and strong points. The Football Manager game addiction I have since 2008(!!!) helped a bit on analyzing these details :P

But one thing is right, and it's a point many people bring out - while CR had success in different clubs and different leagues he played in, Messi has only played in Barcelona, always with an amazing team backing him - and whether he can show the same amazing football in a different team is a mystery. People bring the Argentinian national team as an example that he doesnt do as well - but Argentina didn't have a proper manager (since when is Maradona a manager?) and CR also struggles to do as well in the national team as he does in his club, so it's a bit undecisive. There will always be this discussion. But let there be no doubt - they are two aliens, there won't be anyone as good as these are.

This doesn't have to do with them, but it's my favourite piece of technique. Ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJaU5Q5Jv8w
I don't think anyone will ever understand how he did this.

Hmm, Spanish background? Or just a second language they speak?
Well CR is the most complete - does well with both feet at shooting, crossing and passing and has great technique and tricking skills, he's fast and physically strong and has good aerial abilities - but Messi has that touch of a genius. Not so physically strong and considerably shorter (he's around 170cm tall), and not a perfect right foot, but that guy looks like he has superglue on his feet. Once he is running with the ball, you only stop him by literally tackling him - plus he's tactically accurate, scores goals of all shapes, has an amazing teamplay - way more than CR - does amazing passes, great movements with and without the ball, and his creativity and ability to "think" a teamplay is great. Not to mention CR is a bit of a whiner on the pitch.

About the other Ronaldo, the "Phenomenon", he's the best striker I've ever seen playing - him and Raúl. And Inzaghi as well.

The '10 World Cup wasn't really amazing; '06 was a better show. Not because we went further, but because the football was better played and it didn't have these annoying vuvuzelas.
    Thx :3
Yes I am. From the Portuguese northlands and still in the northlands taking a Uni course.

By Ronaldo I mean Cristiano Ronaldo, not the Brazilian "Phenomenon" :P And inevitable questions because well, it's almost a war on who is better - Messi or C. Ronaldo. Most of the Portuguese people go for C. Ronaldo since he's Portuguese, but I personally prefer Messi.

Hm, I guess the US don't have much coverage from European soccer - or football, as I like to call it, which is its true name. Euro 2012 was amazing, I don't know if you watched any of it.
Being European, I manage to catch some glimpses of what various matches in different countries ended. Still shocked by the 21 goals in 2 matches on the last round of the English League Cup. And Champions League matches are just great.
Ye. But I have to do what I have to do.
And Pokémon was my childhood along with Dragon Ball - I'm not follwing any of those but I'd like to watch Dragon Ball all over again.

Aside from my hometown's club which I'm not revealing, I support Sporting CP (Foreigners know it as Sporting Lisbon) - and no, I'm not from Lisbon. And I prefer Messi over Ronaldo. [Inevitable questions]

International matches as in national teams, Champions League or big matches in various leagues?
Ye, I guess. :P Tho Uni steals some of my time so I'm not here all the time; I pop in once or twice a day.
I... stopped following Pokémon like 3 years ago :s Had more important stuff, which I liked more, to pay attention to.

Soccer is amazing. I like to watch it and play it (I'm a horrible player tho)
Too bad the team I support isn't doing great, but maybe we start recovering with yesterday's win.
Most of my time here is on Other Trivia :p I go to other off-topic sections as well (or the entertainment section, but I went there only for music or soccer talk lol) but I don't really post much.

So you're going to stick around?
I see you've been around PC for a while already :o I don't remember seeing your name around tho, so I guess you were in different sections or just took a break from the place. Or both.
AWW YOU'RE SO CUTE YOU SHOULD FEEL LOVED TOO.

    I work in a clothing shop :D

WOOO GIRLS RULE BOYS DROOL I'll definitely join in.
