I like colored pencils because of the variety of pressures you can use on them to create lighter and darker colors. Plus, they're more forgiving on mistakes. Once I get more confident with my coloring, though, I'll probably switch over to markers since they can look absolutely brilliant if used correctly.

The eraser sounds great because I have to start over on a new piece of paper every once in a while because of the smudges. Although, I think my next buy will be colored pencils, since my old collection is at my parents' house.

We have a few craft stores around here, but I don't know how they price things. I'll just take a look next time I'm near one and see if it's worth getting. It would be nice to have a bit more variety than just my sharpie pen.

Oh, that's not bad at all. If I ever find myself near an art store, I'll have to pick a set up, even if it is for the occasional project.

Yeah, I'm not dedicated enough to buy a set of pens, so I'll just stick with my sharpie. Like you said, it's a great tool.

Ah, well then I might use a pen the next time I do that. I was considering doing that for my latest drawing, but I decided against it in the end.

I'm getting better with lines, but I normally make a rough line with pencils, and then go over that with the pen. I erase the pencil, and it turns out pretty good. I still use pencil for shadowing, though, as I don't think I could do it with a pen. It always turns out way darker than I want it to be.

I don't have a scanner, so I just snap pictures of my drawing. It's not the best, but maybe I'll pick up some specialty pencils if I ever get a scanner. Then pen I use is a very fine sharpie pen, so the ink dries almost instantly. Thankfully the smudging isn't a problem with that.

Ah, that stinks. I use regular pencils, and with this last drawing I did, I then went back over my lines with a black pen to sort of solidify them. I erased all of the pencil lines leaving just the fine black lines behind. I didn't draw the original lines with a lot of pressure, so I could erase easily, but they did smudge a little, so I'll have to check those pencils out.

I remembered when I tried drawing a pose for the first time. I think I went through three pieces of paper front and back because I started to smudge the paper with all of the erasing. That sounds like a pretty complicated drawing, so good luck with that!
