Ah, well then I might use a pen the next time I do that. I was considering doing that for my latest drawing, but I decided against it in the end.

I'm getting better with lines, but I normally make a rough line with pencils, and then go over that with the pen. I erase the pencil, and it turns out pretty good. I still use pencil for shadowing, though, as I don't think I could do it with a pen. It always turns out way darker than I want it to be.

I don't have a scanner, so I just snap pictures of my drawing. It's not the best, but maybe I'll pick up some specialty pencils if I ever get a scanner. Then pen I use is a very fine sharpie pen, so the ink dries almost instantly. Thankfully the smudging isn't a problem with that.

Ah, that stinks. I use regular pencils, and with this last drawing I did, I then went back over my lines with a black pen to sort of solidify them. I erased all of the pencil lines leaving just the fine black lines behind. I didn't draw the original lines with a lot of pressure, so I could erase easily, but they did smudge a little, so I'll have to check those pencils out.

I remembered when I tried drawing a pose for the first time. I think I went through three pieces of paper front and back because I started to smudge the paper with all of the erasing. That sounds like a pretty complicated drawing, so good luck with that!

I've worked six hours so far on this drawing, and I'm not even halfway done with it. I love getting into the detail work, so that's where most of the time is going. Plus I'm actually adding a background, so those things take quite a long time.

A cool pose would definitely help this piece out. It would help bring a little personality into it, and make the character an actual character.

How long does it take you to draw these? I've decided to draw something, and I forgot how long to takes me to do these things.

You seem to have the proportions down pretty well, so it's definitely the next step. I won't pester for the details, but good luck with the drawing!

    What a lovely hobby, haha.

I was mainly talking about Pyra in that picture too, assuming that the one riding it is Pyra. Try experimenting with different body positions because her body language right now is very stiff and rigid.

Yeah, that would be my main critique with the smoothness of the colors. Although, there is one more thing I would like to point out, and that's how tense everything seems to be. Try to have your characters slouch a little, or just have more reasonable body positions than just straight up. It'll help look more natural.
