  • Yeah, a lot of people put hard work in to their events, and it's always nice to see it pay off. If you get a chance later in the week, you could always try one or two of the easier events like the anime snapshot contest or the Retro Gaming Event- neither take that long and both give you an emblem just for participating!
That's too bad to hear. Even if you don't participate, there should still be a lot to check out at least!
Haha, that's almost exactly what they are! If you're looking for more, make sure to participate in some events at the Get-Together when it starts- they usually hand out quite a few.
I guess the concept has changed so much over the years, so now the four moves are much more valuable. Before, I just used to spam a super effective move regardless of accuracy or BP. Now I calculate, check and predict. It makes the four moves way more valuable. I don't see any harm in having five moves, though. Sorta like five fingers, not too many and not too less. One of the reasons spinoffs take off good is that they aren't restricted by the mainstream games. Freedom while making a game is, indeed, invaluable.
I'll have to keep the turtle/tortoise Pokemon in mind. Like I said, I've got quite a few suggestions now, but I'll still add this one on to the list for a possible future poll!
ORAS is fortunately being released at the brink of fan speculation for the remakes. With the 3D engine just released, there's going to be a lot of nostalgia even for the 4th Gen. I guess Game Freak just started making what people want.

Haha, I hope not. Although if there is, no doubt another franchise would adopt many ideas from Pokémon and become popular. The game theme used in Pokémon is really flexible (as seen by the spinoffs) and yet very fun.
I've got quite a few of them, actually. I haven't forgotten about your beginner bird suggestion, though! I just wanted to wait a bit between the beginner Normal types and beginner Flying types. But if you've got any more ideas, feel free to let me know!
Wow, that's quite the commitment watching the whole series like that. I'd probably give up by the time I reached the Hoenn episodes :p
I gave up watching the show quite a few years ago, but mostly kept up with the games, too. There's definitely a lot to catch up on if you haven't been following for 5 or 6 years, though.
Hmm, I'd better check it out. I fear most of these are just shams though. Besides, it's really really hard to emulate the 3DS image files, and it would take lots of effort to create an emu.

I'm going to buy ORAS, though, there's no stopping that!
Very happy to hear that you like stopping by Pokemon General when you come online!

And yeah, I'm a fan of the Pichu brothers. How about you?
It's the one year anniversary of both myself and Adventure being named the moderators of Pokemon General. We decided that we would do something special for the occasion, so we went with matching avatars and signatures.
We just like screwing with people ;) Nah, it's just something we're doing for a short while to commemorate our one-year mod anniversary. I'm sure it won't be too long before we're back to normal.
Seeing as how we've done the early game rodents, the early game birds seems like they'd be a good choice as well. I'll keep it in mind for one of the future POTWs- thanks for the suggestion!
Something I noticed in your Dark-type club signup post - Darkrai is from 4th Generation, not 5th Generation.
