  • Very true! I have way more friends here than any website.
    Don't get too addicted! I should be studying for class tomorrow. XD;
    Hooray for your friend. :D
Enjoying PC so far? TCG and Pokemon Clubs are nice to visit. I'm in a few clubs, heh. ^^
playtcg.me sounds cool, I'll have to check it out!

Random question: Are the older or newer cards more valuable (in gameplay)? I have 3 Zapados and they take 3 energy to do 30 damage. Are all the cards of that generation like that?
I buy mine at Target all the time.

That's one way to go about setting up matches, and probably the simplest, since you don't need any contact information when using TCG Online. There are other methods such as Skype and IM clients, but those require online contact information. There is also playtcg.me, but you need to register at bebessearch.com first, and you use decklists from Bebessearch.com. TCG Online is also the most interesting because of all the ridiculously amusing sound effects.
Tins come with the card in the window, the code card, and 4 booster packs. Pretty good deal right now for the EX tins of Kyurem, Reshiram, and Zekrom.
Oh, one more thing about the tins: they tend to come with a code for the card they feature in the little window on the tin... at least I think they do. Haven't tested it out myself yet, though.

What was the mistake with Furious Knights?
Well good luck getting them to play you, then. You could always try setting up a match online!

Booster packs are how I generally expand my collection. Tins and those special promotional boxes also often have pretty good bonus cards in them in addition to the booster packs and figurines.
I certainly have. I got into competitive play in 2010 and have been buying a bunch of the packs since then, because I've been hearing about all sorts of useful Trainers in those sets.

You could probably try competitive play at 13, but your age group is a very competitive one at most tournaments, from what I hear (Seniors is for those who are between 10 and 15). It'd probably be an interesting experience to get the chance to play against others, I'm sure, but winning would be pretty tough.

I collect everything, really, but my favorite type has kind of always been Electric types.
They haven't for a while, but there have been some pretty worthwhile ones at times. Most competitive players buy them if they're having a hard time coming by certain important Trainers in packs (as a few theme different decks have had very useful Trainer cards included in them these past few years).

I don't play competitively terribly often, but that's mostly because it's a bit of a drive to get to any nearby leagues, and I have been oversleeping tournament registration on tournament days too often lately. I did build this recently for Minnesota States (which I overslept for, of course), but I didn't get to test it out. I feel it's on the weaker side for tournaments, but I'm more of a collector than player.
Furious Knights actually has a really good card for tournaments in it: Eelektrik (not Eelectross, Eelektrik). People like it because it gets lightning energy from the discard pile.

I've been collecting and playing for a while, so I tend to find the theme decks boring nowadays.
What sets have you bought from so far? Everything released in 2010 or later is currently tournament legal.
So a little bird told me you're interested in the TCG!

Have you played competitively at all yet, or are you just starting out?

Also, I guess I am officially your mentor now.
