Hi! I just thought you'd like to know that I've never read Ender's Game, only the Ender's Shadow book, which tells Bean's story.

Ender's Shadow was a pretty good read.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. It really would be courteous. I'm just not understanding how my reasons of "it would be nice" aren't good enough, because "it would be courteous" is the same thing...just worded better. I'm sure my post won't change anything though. They never do, no matter how good a point I make, it seems. lol

If it makes you feel better, I forgot to call my grandmother and didn't even put "happy mother's day" in my mom's card. I'm really awful, lol.

Oh man, I remember reading Chris's quote somewhere. Yes, I get really nervous how someone will react to my story. I would send my stories to my betas and they would offer a lot of suggestions on improvement. At first I would be like, "I suck D:", but then later on I get onto editing and the stories are much better thanks to them.

Hey, Astinus! I checked your replies in the Share Your Writing Thread and I want to let you know I too get nervous whenever some replies to my writing. Nice to see you're getting something written, though! *hugs*

I HAVE SOME...I mean, I have some free time now.

Yup, that was a trailer! I had to lol at the massive spoiler at the end.

Trailer was about what I expected: very Hollywood and lots of blue/orange, which is the color of Science Fiction now. (I miss when Science Fiction was black and green...)

I never put much stock in trailers, because they lie like nobody's business. They generally make bad movies look better and good movies look worse, so I'm hoping the movie itself is more character-driven and less stock-scifi-hollywood than the trailer. If the script and content is substantial and smart enough, the apparent understatedness/stoicism of the performances could be a strength rather than a liability. If they're trying to make an action-y thriller on the other hand...it looks like a very same-y movie.

I think the movie will really come down to what they showed almost none of in the trailer: how Ender interacts with his fellow battle-schoolers. And of course, how Bean is portrayed.

So no, the trailer didn't get me too excited; but then again almost no trailer's actually gotten me excited since I was 12 years old. :P (I don't know, they just never do anything for me; maybe because they're all so similar.) Still excited for the movie, though. Hope it's smart, fun, or both!

And while I'm rambling, my semester will be done in a week; and after that I hope to spend more time writing and reading here cause I miss it. :(

That could also work. No complaints with going in that direction.
