- Hey there! I'm Skymin! At the moment, I'm nineteen years old and I work casual at EB Games, have finished my first year of my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation and am working towards my dream career of being an animator. I love to draw and it's one of the only things I'm really good at.
My life so far has been pretty great, except for the odd tumble. I spent a good lot of Primary School friendless, being excluded or having fake friends who would later hurt me by leaving me friendless and excluded. I did a lot of crying and most often retreated to a sketch pad to draw out my woes. Though it was a long time ago, I still remember the people who did this to me and left me with certain ideas and concepts burned into my brain that will never go away and will most likely never forget it. Despite this, I care not to hold a grudge, only laugh how fat and ugly they all seem to have gotten to match their disgusting personalities. I have made many a friend since then and I'm not afraid now to tell those girls how miserable they made me feel.
I joined PokéCommunity after a half year of High School filled with disappointing friendships, all ending similarly to my previous ones. I hoped this place would provide me with a sanctuary, a secret haven where I could run away from the world and join people who all had similar likes to me. Hopefully here, I could finally make a friend that wouldn't enjoy stabbing me in the back.
I didn't stick to one section when I came here, I kind of wandered about throughout the Diamond and Pearl boards, the Trainer Cards, the Emulating sections and the Fan Clubs. I created two different Trainer Card shops, joined a few Hacks as a spriter, was an proud member of the Latias and Latios Fan Club and a small voice in the community. It was throughout these boards that I met my two first and closest online friends; Kai and Liam.
Then, I found my way into Art Boards, reluctantly posting a random fan fiction I made up about myself and my short adventure in the "Elemental Islands". The fanfiction itself was quite well received by the people who bothered to critique it and together using their advice, made eight chapters of illegible scrawl. As the readers began putting more and more input into my fanfiction, someone pointed out what it sounded a lot like; a roleplay. I had no idea what it was and little did I knew that I would be spending the next five years hanging around these mysterious boards.
The first thing I did as a roleplayer was make a really bad roleplay based on my fanfiction. It lasted about two months and was about something ridiculous like hybrids and talking Pokémon. None-the-less, it got me started into writing, though I didn't write again for almost a year, being on hiatus due to school and what not. From then on, I was on and off in PokéCommunity, hanging around when my roleplay was active and leaving for extended periods of time until I found another roleplay in which I would stay around (then rinse and repeat).
I became moderator during my longest time around in here in 2011, as my graduation from school and my gap year left me with a lot of time to do nothing. I poured a lot of time into these boards and eventually became moderator as the previous one stepped down in early August. I'm very proud to be moderator and though I get rather lazy at times, I do love these boards and hope to spend many more year as the fearless leader of the Roleplay section.
I have a great lot of friends here now, the good majority of them you can see in my Friends List (though some have left PC, but I still remain in contact in them or still refer to them as my friends!)
In the other department, I enjoy music, art, comics and video games. I'm pretty much in a open relationship with my iPhone, my 3DS, my PSVita and my PS3, it's no big deal. My favourite bands are Angels & Airwaves, Pendulum, Blink-182 and Panic! at the Disco. I love a crap tonne of different series' and franchises such as Scott Pilgrim, The Blue Exorcist, Being Human, The Legend of Zelda, Assassin's Creed, Disgaea, Final Fantasy, LittleBigPlanet and Gurren Lagann (just to name a few).
