Aaah... I see. Well, there's two sides to that in the forms of two different kinds of RPs. There are competitive RPs and cooperative RPs. In a cooperative RP it's not about who has the better character or who types more perfectly--It's about you and your character's actions and being pleasant to roleplay with. There are also competitive and cooperative roleplayers, but trust me when I say that a competitive roleplayer looking down on you in a cooperative roleplay probably has bigger issues with their own skills than you do. |P
Short story first, if that really bugs you, stay away from competitive RPs! If you do that, there's nothing to worry about. ;P RPs where the GM gives rewards for post quality or where players are aiming to defeat other players are the telltale signs of a competitive roleplay.
