  • I just submitted my tutorial for changing the start map in a hacked firered with a hex editor. Keep an eye out for it in the tutorial secton.:)
Make friends with NSE and do overworlds and trainer spites. There is a plugin for trainer sprites in one of the menus.
    Okay,

    -mapping
    -creating and inserting new trainers
    -changing start maps
    -using people overworlds
-Scripting an end of a game
-just general knowledge of how things work

Also, this time I want the mountain like Mount Everest. This thing should be massive.
Pick some variables that aren't used. Just start at something like 5000 and increment by 1 at each box. Make sure you write down which ones go with what so you can use them later.

Also, introEditer by Mewthree Inc does work with the patch. However it will only edit bank and level. No X-coordinate or y-coordinate. There isn't a text box to type in, but trust me. You can edit them by clicking on it.
The applier allows you to run everything in the patch, except erasing the rom. If you apply every single tick box and button on the bottom, you will have his hack installed, or you could just install the ones you want. I tested it this way last night and SMCA will open it. The only thing it won't do is erase the rom.
Hmmm, use the hack applier application. I believe it may not be able to find some data. By using the application to apply the hack, you won't overwrite any old stuff, except the stuff that is required to be. It should have come with v. 1.1
Just use Luner ips. It is really simple and self-explanatory.

And no. If you are doing it on FireRed, it already has a black and white set-up. But I have an idea about how to do it in Ruby, but I don't know if it will work.

Edit: It won't work because it would only change the map pallets. So battles would still be in color.
During the day, about when you posted, I'm in school and PC is blocked. Hit me up on MSN if you want to talk then. I'll reply if I can without my teacher seeing:)

Edit: would you also mind sending an .ips? It would enable me to play around with the challenge a bit.
