Nothing to exciting I think, but I feel like I can make a fun character. I'm checking out the other characters to see what would fit the group dynamic best. It's always fun to write a brooding badass, but if there are a lot of those, I feel like it would be fun to introduce a character that's less of that kind of guy. And the other way around of course.

That's quite some time. Were you writing already when you started? Also, that's a really specific date, haha.

Yeah, I figured. I might go without the sombrero and go for something more similar to Hao from Shaman King, poncho wise.
How long have you been RP'ing btw?

Possibly. Rika mentioned the idea of the cafe pausing while events run, but I'm not sure exactly what we'll end up doing.

The launch of the ICDCC will probably take priority for a few weeks and then we'll have to think about how other events fit in :<.

It helps that it's right up my alley. I love those kinda light fantasy worlds.
Well, the character I'm envisioning is a something like a guy in a poncho with a sombrero, that leaves his face in the shade, and there is a big red nose sticking out, as he has a chronic cold. I thought that might be a bit too toonish, though, haha. Because I can imagine him being in Looney Toons. He's just a newborn, so he's very changeable though, so if you feel like it might be tone breaking even in the slightest, say so, haha.

I'm really loving the world you set up, it's a great read. I think I already have a good general plan of what the character is gonna be. How "toonish" can the characters get? I don't have anything extreme planned but it would be handy to know, haha.

I do plan on it! I'll try to write up a character this week somewhere, as I still have to write up a A&D competition and study for some exams. I already have some general ideas. Am I right to assume to ice would be in the element of water?

Yeah, I guess with a country as big as that you have more divide in music tastes, just like in America. We have a lot of focus on Electronic and singer songwriter recently, while something like the Punk scene is almost non-existent here.

Also, I've been reading through Gunpowder, and that looks so good. I really admire how much attention to detail you put in those write-ups.

Yeah, the Netherlands and Germany do lead that scene. It's a shame I don't like that kind of music though. I have no idea what kind of music would be big in Australia, although I think your poppunk scene is a lot bigger than ours.

Sounds a lot like the Dutch music scene, although we probably have a bigger electronic scene.

Yeah, the primary school teacher school focuses a lot more on the pedagogical aspect of teaching, while middle and high school teachers need to focus more on the information they're teaching. We divide middle and high school again because the depth in to which you go into the material really differs. Because you choose which course you take in high school, it is way more detailed.

Haha, I guess you wouldn't know that much about it, yeah. It's nice too see that people don't skip Australia when they tour, haha. You're rock scene is also very active, right?

Owh, we change them up a little differently. We have the first school which is 2/3 and some 4 year olds, then 4 till 12, then middle school which is 13 till 15/16, and high school is 16 through 18. You have to have a different degree for all of them, if I remember correctly. I expect 6 year olds to be very different in behavior compared to 12 year olds. Although I'm not really an authority on that, haha. Do you guys have to do a school play in your last year of primary though?

I think they just play small comedy clubs. I check out a lot of theaters around here, and I don't think I've seen them playing there. I doubt they'd fill them up. I don't visit Amsterdam often, so if there are foreign comedians in comedy clubs I don't here of it. Although I think some U.K. comedians do visit here. I assume they do just go to Australia?

About Me

  • About gimmepie
    Hi whoever is reading this

I'm gimmepie (obviously not my actual name, but I prefer not to use that on PC). I'm 19 years old, have high-funtioning autism and am an Australian. Currently I am studying Primary School Education at university and I work somewhat casually as a ballroom dance coach at my studio.

This is my third year now as a member of PC and I thoroughly enjoy it here. You can primarily find me typing up a storm in the Roleplay Corner or quite often sharing my love of music in the song-rating thread in Forum Games but I tend to pop up in all kinds of places.

I like to think I'm a friendly guy, albeit stubborn and opinionated, so if you feel like talking just drop me a VM or PM and I'll probably reply as soon as I see it.

PC Supporter since 2014 (Currently Gold Tier)

Most RPs GM'd at once: Six (I'm pretty sure that's a record but I dunno)
My interests are pretty varied and they keep me sane when I'm supposed to be studying.

As I said before I teach at my local ballroom studio, I also train there myself as I am also a competitor. Dancing is one of the most important parts of my life.

I also love music, a very wide range of it too. I listen to everything from Rock to rap to country. My favourite band is Linkin Park but there are many other artists I love (far too many to list here so VM me if you're curious).

Pokemon has been a part of my life since I was about six. My first game was Pokemon Stadium for the N64 and I watched the anime religiously. These days I'm still in love with the franchise and I buy the main series games whenever they come out. I also sometimes battle on PCs Showdown server. These days I'm not as fond of the anime, but I haven't seen X/Y yet so I don't know.

I am a big lover of improvisational and stand-up comedy. I am arguably the biggest fan of Whose Line Is It Anyway in my country and I spend hours watching it and stand-up shows. I often consider giving stand-up a shot, but I struggle to be funny on cue and I don't have a very good stage presence.

I'm not much of a gamer, but I do enjoy a bit of gaming sometimes. My favourite game is The Last of Us but Starcraft 2 is a close second.

I am an anime lover and, unlike Western shows with which I am very picky about genre, I will watch almost any genre. My favourite anime of all time is Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

Weekly Music Mince

It's been a long time coming, and as usual it is still late, but the seventh Music Mince is here. In this special edition of my most frequently posted type of entry I'm changing things up again. Rather than showcasing songs that I myself particularly enjoyed in the week, this issue contains tracks submitted by some willing regulars from the supporter Plug DJ.

Song: Lost
Artist: Frank Ocean

Challenge Accepted - Favourite PCers

Well I guess the Music Mince will be being late again since I got home late. I had an awesome night though, so who cares? Onwards with the challenge! This was a second challenge from Foxrally who thought it would be fun to start an all out war by having me declare who my favourite people on this site are (because my opinion is definitely valued that much).

The thing is, I don't know if I can really say I have "favourite PCers"

Challenge Accepted - Torture

Alright folks, this is the second challenge I was given. This topic comes from Foxrally who gave me the task of writing about types of torture. This, naturally, got me thinking about the methods I would use to torture and torment some of my friends from PC. Let us begin.

Crime: Having a cooler character than me in Gunpowder.

I was really proud of my character for my fantasy/western roleplay, Gunpowder. He seemed

Challenge Accepted - Top Ten Pokemon

Alright, as some of you might know I'm accepting challenges until the 29th of this month. Just post a suggestion in the comments below or in the Challenge Pie entry. This challenge was another suggestion from Klippy, who gave me the topic of writing about my favourite pokemon.

We'll be counting down from number ten today as I have arranged these in a rough order. Let us begin.

Number Ten - Carbink

Challenge Pie

Not long ago I issued something of an open challenge to those of you who read my blog. I asked you to give me any topic you could think of with the proviso that I would attempt to write an entry about as many suggested topics as I could. This new section is following the same trend and has been named "Challenge Pie" in honour of the first topic I was given - types of pie as suggested by Klippy - and of course because I needed a food-related title anyway.
