    There are ways to reduce the lag, like using a variable to also record the moving? (like last_moving) before the "return" in def character_name, so you only need to call the Kernel.pbUpdateVehicle when last_moving!=moving?

    $game_player.moving? should works. I guess that the method that you are calling isn't updated every frame (or a similar frequency). Try to use a new condition in 'def character_name'.

    About the *.nsbmd textures...

    You must edit the names of the *.nsbmd textures and palletes using a hex editor, and replace the names by the originals. Look here, in section "Importando un Mapa": http://foros.nhdex.com/T-Mapeando-en...eneraci%C3%B3n

    It's easier if you extract the NSCR file using Tinke or some other program that extracts files from NARC files. Then check the file using a hex editor. ;)
