Gotta love that quote! I chose the "Once you kill a cow..." one to "present" for my English class once, it was voted one of the best. I didn't say it was Gaga though, I said Stefani Germanotta instead

Yeah, I really think it shows her best vocal side. It'll be interesting to see if she will incorporate something similar into her next album.

Personally I'd consider it over, she was in tears after the last artRave show and it just felt like it was because everything ARTPOP-related was over, not just the tour. Could be wrong though. And yeah I stopped caring about the music video for DWUW after a while, and I still don't really care for it.

Speaking of, are you seeing the Cheek To Cheek Tour?

Yeah, now after the era I kinda feel like that was just something she said in order to keep the hype up. Or maybe she did plan it and just didn't get around to doing it. I personally would've liked Americano to be the sequel.

Definitely. I dislike when people use the term "true fan", especially the artists themselves - we're all a fan in one way or another, and I don't think being honest about your opinion is something that should degrade your "status".

That quote is amazing imo. I really like that the story is very clear too, same for Paparazzi. I guess G.U.Y. also has a story, but it feels too complex to understand at times with no clarification regarding certain things.

Exactly, it may feel deceptive but it's better to be true to yourself.

SHICD is probably one of Gaga's best works to date, at least imo. The Fame Monster was strong as a whole, but there are certain gems that really stand out. As an entirety I think Telephone is definitely one of my all-time favorites. I love the instrumental, the music video has to be my favorite of all time, I love the production etc. I think ARTPOP has some extremely well-produced and well thought out songs, but I don't think I've grown to love any song there as much as her older ones. There's a disconnect somewhere, not sure why.

I'm very fond of Judas myself, but MANiCURE is probably one that I outright dislike... it just doesn't do anything for me, and hasn't since I first heard it at the Swinefest. It's a shame, because it feels like it'd be a total bop if I actually liked it.

I loooove the more "underrated" songs. My fav ones are usually never the singles. My holy trinity from BTW would have to be HML, GH and Americano.

Sorry for not responding, I've been super busy! Yeah I heard that too, but she sang it at my show too. Venus and MANiCURE would have to be my least fav songs, tbh.

I agree with you on the cutting out songs part. Although for some reason I thought she had cut MJH from the setlist permanently, so when that started playing at my show, I completely lost it. Swine was sick live too, even though it's not really my fav from the album.

Yeah, I did! I went on September 2 2012. It was my first concert ever, and I absolutely loved it. It's probably my favorite show of all time still, but artRave was pretty darn cool too.

That sounds cool! I never dressed up/cosplayed as anything, although I did have plans to make a Raikou cosplay once. Lol, I can relate to the drive thing, for us it took a very long time (we drove from the south of Sweden to around Stockholm).

Ah, I see. It's been quite a long time since I've been to a convention. I wouldn't really say they were my thing anyway, at least not for entire days.

Oh wow, that's really cool! Is it a public m&g thing or something? And is there a way to see the drawing? I like drawing myself, but I rarely have time for it nowadays.

About Me

  • About LetsPlayALoveGame
Lookin' g00d, PokeCommunity. My name is Nathan, though I usually go by LoveGame in most Pokemon-related communities. I've been a fan of Pokemon since the day it came out. If it weren't for Pokemon, I probably would not have gotten as big into gaming as I am. My favorite Pokemon is Mantine, and yes, I use it competitively.

Win/Loss records (Please note that this only reflects battles on the actual console, not Shoddy or PS! It is also not completely accurate due to me deleting my Platinum and HG save files. I probably had closer to 300+ total battles):

3rd Gen: 1/0 (until my friend pushed me out of the way and turned off the GCN when he lost. Lol)
4th Gen: 70/30 (Ended it on an even 100 on 7/10/2011! Whoo!)
5th Gen: N/A (Did not play competitive)
    6th Gen: 67/23 (Let's get to 100 battles!)

I'm a 22 year old dude from Texas and I'm aspiring to be a director. My inspirations are George Lucas, Clint Eastwood, and Kevin Smith. I enjoy a wide variety of music; mainly rap/hip-hop and metal, and if my username didn't tip you off, I have a massive crush on Lady Gaga.

I've been battling competitively since early '09 following the release of Platinum. When it comes to competitive play, I guess you could say I'm somewhere in between a n00b and a professional. I know the ins and outs of competitive play rather well, but I am one of the few 'serious' competitive players who uses their favorite Pokemon rather than the cheap, overused ones seen all-too-often(Blissey, Talonflame, Garchomp, Rotom Wash, etc.) because I feel like it doesn't take as much skill to use them effectively. With a bit of skill and a lot of luck, I've managed to successfully run forgotten and seldom-used Pokemon such as Sandslash, Primeape, and my all-time favorite, Mantine, even in OU environments, pulling many a victory out my ass.

I started off mostly battling randoms I met through YouTube during the heyday of DPPt with a decent amount of success, and I did participate in and win one fan-organized online tournament in May '09. I continued to regularly battle randoms as well as friends until 4th gen was all but dead.

When 5th gen came along, I did enjoy playing it, but the online and competitive scenes just weren't the same. I tried getting into it and simply wasn't feeling it at all. It didn't help that you could no longer set your team to level 100, meaning I had to go to the extra trouble of having the most boring grinding sessions in Pokemon history. Even with the release of the improved sequels, I couldn't find a love for 5th gen competitive play.

This all changed with the release of XY. After beating the relatively short game, I immediately wanted to return to competitive. EV training was no longer a dreaded chore thanks to supertraining and (if you have a larger attention span than I) horde battles. It was clear that this game was built to get people into competitive battling. It also has that same fun feel to it that had been largely absent since 4th gen. Now I'm back and as active as ever, ready to represent underrated Pokemon everywhere! Haha.

I'm overall a pretty chill and agreeable guy, so I never get too serious about winning or losing, and will happily battle anyone who asks. I love interacting with the community in any way possible, whether it be to talk strategy and teambuilding, the games and the storyline, or even non-Pokemon things. Lastly, I upload XY Wifi battle videos over on my YouTube channel, Petey1Piranha.

These next few paragraphs will probably make me sound like an arrogant prick, but if you know me, you know I'm not like that. I'm only adding this to my bio after the recent backlash I've been receiving when I was only trying to be nice and contribute. Anyone who's been in the Pokemon fanbase for long enough will tell you how awful it is, and I try my best not to reflect that image.

If it's your first time exploring the metagame or interacting with a Pokemon community site or chat, you WILL be berated for using Pokemon you like. Make sure you know this. To them, you won't even be taken seriously because skill doesn't matter. It's all about using the most overpowered stuff you can find and exploiting the hell out of it.

I'm probably the best Mantine, Sandslash, Lanturn, etc. user in the competitive scene. I can't stress enough that I'm not trying to brag here. I'm saying this based off of what I see. It's not even because others use these Pokemon ineffectively; it's because no one else uses them because they're "inviable" or "outclassed" or whatever terms you guys like to throw around.

But let's get real. You're not "gud" if you win because you look up the best sets and have the most broken strategies spoon-fed to you. You're not "gud" if you use the same tired, played-out teams I've seen and beaten time and time again. It takes far more skill to use Pokemon you like. Some of you really need to take the advice of Karen of the Elite Four: "Strong Pokemon, weak Pokemon. That is only the
    Gaming(Obviously). I mostly play Xbox 360 or PC, I also have a 3DS, a GameCube, a PS2, and some older systems.

I enjoy learning about wars and military tactics. I am also studying writing/directing-related things, as that is the career I am pursuing.

I enjoy anything music-related, especially rap/hip-hop culture or anything related to Lady Gaga.

I love animals, and own 2 cats of my own. I'm also a huge fan of Halo, Dragon Ball, Star Wars, BioShock, Legacy of Kain, and more. I have been called "The Walking Non-Sequitur".

    Random Pokemon st00f:

List of "inviable" Pokemon I have successfully used in OU environments:

Mantine (Originally a ChestoRest set in Gen 4, now an AV set. Very easy Pokemon to use if you're good at predicting like me. Laughs at non-electric Sp. Attackers like Hydriegion.)

Sandslash (Fantastic Rapid Spinner with Swords Dance unlike Donphan. For anyone who doubts me with Sandslash, it's one of my best sweepers. So help you if I get a Swords Dance up against your Phys. attackers.)

Flareon (I can see why this thing got so much hate prior to 6th gen. Now I'm blazing a trail with Flare Blitz running off of a base 120 atk. Scarfing it outspeeds most threats, Special bulk laughs at Water moves, and mediocre base HP is irrelevant because we all know how "bulky" Talonflame is. Priority Roost, you say? You're open to my EQ...)

Primeape (Has an infinitely better design than Conkeldurr, but that doesn't mean much. Still, its speed is a huge advantage, and with Sleep plaguing the metagame, Vital Spirit is lifesaver. Also the slayer of Darkrais.)

Lanturn (Okay, so this guy hadn't been getting a huge wave of hate til recently. I used it on my original Gen 4 OU team, where it destroyed Skarmory and Starmie many a time. It's also useful for Heal Bell due to its ability to stay in for a long time. I'd use it over Rotom-W any day of the week.)
There are a few others, but those are my most successful mons and you get the gist of what I'm trying to say.

List of commonly-used competitive Pokemon I've never used:

Talonflame (Unoriginal, meh design, awful bulk for a Flare Blitzer, Stealth Rock bait, only one viable moveset = laughably predictable, easily countered by my Omastar. Lol)

Rotom-W (Awful design that looks like its pleasuring itself, more annoying than powerful, goes down in one hit to Venusaur and even my Cacturne isn't afraid of that thing.)

Aegislash (Its pre-evolution is better-looking. Protect is already a broken, noobish move. Did we really need an even more broken variant of it? Oh, look at you, hiding behind that shield while you setup and spam priority. You're so gud.)

SkarmBliss (Stop hiding behind this combo and fight me. It was played out in 4th gen and it's no more interesting now. Eh, at least there's Mold Breaker for that hilariously broken Sturdy buff that Gen 5 gave ya.)
There's others, but again, you get my point.
