  • ya blew it! nah, i know what you mean, i've been so lazy with keeping in touch. im just preoccupied y'know =o= but i hope all is well, all that spring testing can be pretty stressful.
Hey... I'm sorry for letting the North Wind RP die. But I have revamped it in hopes of getting it started and running. If you want to give me another chance and join, I'd be happy to send you your old SU, that awesome one :) What do you say?
I've got the first season, and my quote memory leaves so much to be desired D; no I'm all inspired to delete all my music to make room for more tim and eric. But I just don't have it in me? I'm sure there's a site streaming it somewhere...and omg, the relationship between Chunky Carol and her boss. She loses a single pound, "we did it!" I lurv Beaver Boys, their obsession with shrimp and white wine. Have you seen the Absolut videos? With Zach and Tim and Eric? My god, I could quote those til the end of time.

I'll have to give it a whirl o3o I downloaded Apparat's full CD, but I could only stand listening to Arcadia. xD I guess I do that when I get hooked onto one song.
I swear I used to be able to see people's previous names when I hovered over their current ones. That made it easy. I'll admit though that if they weren't killing the name change feature I'd probably be changing my username almost whenever I could so I can understand why people would do that. But I don't get the point of alternate accounts. I didn't even know people did that until a short while ago.

Planes and being a tourist are the worst way to travel. The only traveling I've enjoyed has been the kind when I was with someone who knew the area and which tourist-y things to avoid and which really were worth seeing. I wouldn't be happy if I had to rely on a tourist service or if I had to travel by myself. The idea of braving a new place on my own, while romantic, fills me with dread.
I get some idea from the way people talk with each other and the names I see over and over who's who, but I don't spend much of my posting time in those areas that seem really popular either.

There's really no way of knowing unless you go there I suppose. Every place must be like that, a big unknown. I'd still prefer going abroad again if I were going to travel. My family never had much reason to go very far, unfortunately. It must still have been nice to see other places, though I don't know where you've been or how nice those places were.
I find it hard to get into the center of things here. There's some kind of web that connects a bunch of the regulars, but I'm (and I might as well go out on a limb and including you) on the outskirts and not really sure whether I do want to get closer or not. I came here for the same reasons you did, but now I wouldn't bat an eye if the whole pokemon side of PC disappeared. In a way those areas are too serious for me. Although if the creative/art areas weren't around I probably would notice that.

It's easy to stay in one place. I've never been further east than Nevada. From what I hear from people who've been out that way (the east coast, not Nevada) I think I'd be happier staying closer to the Pacific than the Atlantic. Not that I hear bad things. I just don't hear about anything that seems any different from around here. There's also, and this is a purely subjective opinion on my part, the image I get of people out there being more high-strung.
I know, I've looked at past conversations with people and I'm like..oh you're that person I don't remember you being that person and and and *jumbled mind* I'm going to like this new development, I think. YES. THAT IS TIM HEIDECKER, AND I LOVE YOU FOR not only being you but for RECOGNIZING HIM *u* does this mean I get to quote Tim and Eric to you nonstop? :D

    mmspaget.

also, your lastfm thing, I see Arcadia by Apparat. Lovely song. ( but I've not heard the remix o: ) *adds*
You could be right. In my head PC is a recreation of high school and I was a recluse in HS so I don't have a good sense of what the majority of PC thinks about things except that I assume (incorrectly?) intellectual discussion is not high on most members' to-do lists. All I know is as much as I like being a smartypants I also enjoy being mindless and childish sometimes, as I'm sure everyone does. Especially in certain forums.

Hey, you're from the golden state. That's my neck of the woods.
I think those of us who like the highflautin' stuff are into different things: astronomy, drawing, computers, classic movies, poetry, etc. So there's not much that really connects 'em all together, you know? Yeah, there probably are a good chunk who learn/want to learn Japanese or other things somewhat related to their pokemon interest, but I don't think you'll find many history buffs, for instance.

Oh, I'd still go there, no question. If I had the time and money, of course. You could spend a lifetime in a big enough city and not get tired of it.
You're one of few ;-( I should have held a voting poll or something.

I'm not sure how I'd like it combined (spacepoop?) but a magical alternation system would be ideal. Like just picking two names you really like and switching them when you feel like it. too bad name changes take such a heavy toll on PC ;-; but I like that most people are going back to their original usernames, it'll be all nostalgic. I could make spacecub my usertitle? but no, I like my current one. u3u
I think a lot of people come here to relax and kill time chatting or working on their hacks. If this website were full of people who liked to read I think it would a lot smaller.

I hear Paris is actually pretty grey and the air is bad and it's the worst place to be in France if you're not French.
I've toyed with a similar idea, one not limited to videos just so it would have a better chance of surviving, though simpler might be better. Call me cynical, but I get the feeling that if you restricted the topic you'd get 7 or 8 replies and the thread would die, but if you made it a free-for-all you'd end up with a lot of, well, crap. You'd end up with a "post your favorite videos" thread which I get the feeling the higher ups would frown on. But it's a good idea!

I can never remember every scene so I enjoy rewatching it. And it's just gorgeous. The colors, the music. Makes me wish I could live in Paris, in a little apartment with a neighbor who'd sit on the roof playing the accordion in the morning.
I really liked the Old Fangs video you put in your signature. Sad, which wasn't what I thought it would be by the end, but I liked it.

It's great when things you like cross paths that way and make something as good as either, or better. It's my favorite movie so I'd recommend it to everyone whether they'd seen it or not.
That's a nice sentiment. I don't hear people say things like that very often so it tickles me heart a little. The intellectual part that is. The entire internet is an offense of some kind. Somewhere there are lawyers and English professors spinning in their graves because of it.
You seem very well read. At least you make an effort to get those views so who can blame you. I had thought you had come up with most of them yourself. A little unlikely I realize, but you do seem capable of it if anyone on PC is.
Where do you keep getting the quotes for your signature? It seems like you change it often.
Psh, philosophical life? Don't worry, everyone in the modern age feels like that (if they even care). Not like they teach us philosophy in high school. And don't even try 'educating' yourself. There's so much stuff, it's overwhelming. Have you heard of John Dewey? Apparently he was the most influential American philosopher in the 20th century. So influential that his name hasn't entered pop culture.

You really should! That particular play is a blast. Actually, all of his plays are pretty good. They aren't tiresome or overly philosophical, unlike some of his novels. They actually apply the theory to real-life situations.

(For bonus points, write the quote in French! ;3)
Go ahead, the moar the better! I just don't want to see any links being made to Charlie's Angels 2: Full Throttle or something. >_>
It was a lovely piece indeed, the music was especially a perfect fit...I don't watch a lot of shorts, but this one may very well be my favorite.

Yours is horrifying, by the way. :b
