  • The only Muk I can recall was Koga's Muk which loved to abuse Minimize and the like, so I don't really have any idea on Muk... Probably why I don't know much about Garbador's potential. That can be a scary thing, and I'm saying this in a good way too. :P

That's good to hear! Can't wait to see that Jellicent kick some butt. Unless you got Ice Beam as an egg move, then your only possibility would be Blizzard since Ice Beam's TM is after the main story, unfortunately.

Awww. Well, at least with Inner Focus Mienshao will always be always to land some hits, even with annoying moves trying to flinching the poor guy.

Hmm, you know what might help your Vanilluxe? Letting it hold Icy Rock. You can get it from the Parasol Lady near Tubeline Bridge if you talk to her at the nighttime (make sure it's rather deep in the night like 8-9pm, otherwise you'd get a Smooth Rock). Since it has Ice Body, a combination of Acid Armor, Mirror Shot, and Hail can really make one long and annoying battle for the opponent, hehe. Vanillauxe, sadly, isn't as fast as its opponents, so hopefully it can tank things around, or at least fight something that isn't as quick as it.

I can see what you mean with Flame Burst and Hex. Flamethrower and Shadow Ball are definitely the better ones of the group -- however, I'm not quite sure which ones you can teach Lampent instead, really. Hex might be useful when Flamethrower's slight chance of a Burn actually happens or if some Pokémon tries to hit Lampent physically (Flame Body). I think Flame Burst is rather disposable though, since its only real usage is in Triple battles, which are rather rare in the game anyway. No idea what to replace it though... I wish you can teach it Energy Ball, but that TM is after the main story as well. There is always Solarbeam though, but the two turn thing isn't very ideal if Lampent is slower than its adversary.

Hmm... While they're not totally bad moves, I feel that they're a little too gimmicky. But it depends... Would you want a U-Turn like sort of move, or a move that lowers speed? Personally, I don't see as much use for that since Galvantula's supposed to be rather fast, so unless it's fighting something that's faster, then Electroweb doesn't really help. Why not teach it the Thunderbolt TM? That's found in P2 Laboratory at Route 17. This is probably unlikely, but if you decide to overlevel your Pokémon and go to 60, Galvantula will be able to learn Bug Buzz, heh.

For Mienfoo, teaching it Bulk Up might help. It'd definitely be a nice thing to have an Attack and Defense boost -- Calm Mind might be useful -- Mienshao's Special Attack isn't that bad, but I don't know, up to you. At least there's the Special Defense boost. If you teach it Work Up instead, you may be able to have a Special move open for Mienshao. At Level 56, Mienshao will be able to learn Ji Jump Kick, which got a massive power boost in this game, so that can be a pretty awesome thing to teach. You can TM it Low Sweep too if you're concerned that a Brave Mienshao might not be quick against everything, if you want -- but I think Drain Punch works nicely. Not sure what else you can try teaching it as an offensive move... Maybe you can try see if you can Poison your foes with the TM Poison Jab, haha... I don't really know. xD
Oho ~ As I said, check out Route 10 or Mistralton Cave. I believe there's a Veteran trainer you can meet after you cross a long strip of dark, tall grass before entering the Pokémon League. Past that strip is a road containing more trainers and eventually, that male Veteran with the Dusk Stone.

Yeah, I totally get you with nature. Only one Poison move is physical for Garbodor, and even at that its accuracy is low, so that's pretty problematic. Good thing Garbodor knows Body Slam~ Stockpile and Swallow's good for the whole Defense and recovery deal, and it can neutralize the Defense lost from Weak Armor, so more power to you on that. Hmmm. Maybe it can resort to a few Speed loss if it can just hold on its own with some Stockpiling, then a Swallow, then sweep, hehe?

You know, Black Sludge can pretty much help you with Garbodor's situation. Healing it, and then a good ol' Swallow -- haha, I can see it being pretty awesome.

Feel free to keep Jellicent. Jellicent is definitely threatening, and since it can learn Recover, you can further annoy any Pokémon having a tough time penetrating the big fellow. Maybe you can teach it Blizzard to wipe out some Grass and Dragon types. Just watch out for Dark Pokémon or Pokémon with Crunch and stuff. I know you'll be meeting more Dark types in the Elite Four up, so take care.
Oh! And before I forget, you should probably consider evolving Lampent once it learns some awesome moves -- Like Shadow Ball at Level 53. Dusk Stoning it to Chandelure would make its Special Attack stat skyrocket to extremely high heights! It has the highest Special Attack of any non-legendary Pokémon, so it's really threatening.

If you haven't found a Dusk Stone yet, go to Route 10 or Mistralton Cave. At Route 10, a Veteran gives you it, and at Mistralton Cave, just venture up to the third floor. xD I think you should evolve Lampent at Level 53 to learn Shadow Ball, unless you want to hold him out for Pain Split and Overheat, at Level 61 and 69 respectively...
    Garbodor?

Definitely a unique choice... Hmm... One thing I can imagine with a Weak Armor Garbodor is that you can use Toxic Spikes twice while its defenses are moderately high then try to start sweeping with a strong Poison type move like Gunk Shot since its speed would have raised from Weak Armor. If there's no Weak Armor, then a simple stockpile strategy while trying to kill the opponent off with Toxic works fine too, hehehe...

Its defenses are adequate, fortunately, but the biggest thing Garbodor has against it is its typing. Poison-types, they usually do fine defensively but it's hard for them to get a good grip offensively since the only type that's weak against it is Grass. Since Garbodor is weak against Ground and Psychic, you can perhaps consider replacing Serperior... Serperior for me got a little tough to kill opponents since his moveset was rather limited (Leaf Blade...Leaf Blade...lalala :V), but oh well. xD

At least it'll make that type weakness against Fire a little less troublesome. Also if you're considering replacing Garbodor for a Fighting-type, well, that's quite two different contrasting things. I mean, look at Mienshao and compare that to Garbodor, right? :P Also, Fighting-types would work nicely against Dark, which is one of the Elite Four members' specialties, so I wouldn't recommend it too much.

Ah, I think I'm writing a lot. xD It's up to you, really ~ Garbodor is a really interesting creature, but I think there could have been much more done with it :c It kind of reminds me of Muk in some ways.
    No problem!

There's also Seismitoad, but I never really preferred that guy...He's kind of a above average mixed bag. But still, as long as you find some counter to the team, since three of the Pokémon are weak against Fire and Rock, then you're all good. xD
Well, you cooould go to Gamestop and turn in your DS for a large chunk off on the 3DS. ._.
As far as I know, Nintendo is now phasing out regular DS games, so it might be a good idea to do this particular upgrade, even if you haven't been into the past ones.
    I know that feeling. |D

I still need to ... finish replaying Spyro 3 >w>

If only Golden Sun 3 and Pokemon and Global Agenda hadn't distracted me with their awesome.
    Yeah.. I should've gotten into this forum earlier too. I guess I just drift too much. ^_^;
I've been replaying Red version as part of my nuzlocke all generation challenge. No idea when I plan to finish though. xD I'm laaazyyyy.
I'm... totally guilty of never having beaten my Heart Gold version. Somehow I just didn't get into it.
when you take screenshots with VBA, use the File>Screen Capture option, then the picture will be smaller and better quality too.
You haven't? DB It's such a fun game! If it's your thing anyway >.>
    How are you, anyway?
Hello, you posted on the thread that you could help with the story, can you make a story? Because I really need someone to help with the story.
Doh. I missed my chance at welcoming you in your welcome thread. Well, welcome to the forums anyway. ^_^; I'm curious. By any stretch of a chance do you play Super Smash Bros and or use Jigglypuff while playing it?
