Cool that you've already got it looking like good ol' XP! Your Firefox, though, could use some work. Get these addons:

    - Classic Theme Restorer
    - Firefox 3.6 Behaviors
    - Status-4-Evar
    - Firefox 2, the Theme, Reloaded

And, you can make barfy Chrome-ripoff Firefox 40 look and work like Firefox is supposed to:

    Spoiler:

Otherwise, it's good to know that Windows 10 is behaving for you. It appears that the Windows Star Trek Rule still stands.

Yeah, the new Firefox has been annoying me lately, it's been rather slow and such. My PC has just been acting sluggish and annoying in general though tbh. I hate Windows 8 with a passion, but Windows 10 actually looks like it won't be too bad. It's a free upgrade, and with a free third party tool, I can make the start menu exactly like it was in 7. So what I've been doing this weekend is backing up my important stuff, and I'm gonna upgrade to 10 and try it out with Classic Shell. I figure it's worth a try anyway, and since I have things backed up already and have a Windows 7 install disk, worse case scenario is I end up with a clean re-insall of 7 and still end up with my PC running more smoothly lol.

I do totally know where you're coming from though. I mean, I have 7 setup to look like XP, and I still use Office 2003, and mainly hack Gen 1 and 2, so I totally feel you there!
Good to see that I'm not alone! All I care about is whether or not something is intuitive for me and whether or not it does its job. Firefox 40 might be "pretty," but it's in no way, shape, or form intuitive for me. Thank the GODS I have addons that make it look and function like good ol' Firefox 2.

Windows 10 doesn't look too bad (at least, they seemed to learn from Windows 8's mistakes), but I'm going to hold off on the free upgrade. I'd rather they work out the kinks and bugs first, and I'm about due for a new laptop, anyways.

    LOL, I bet!

I've been having some heated discussions (really, arguments) with a certain techno geek friend over Windows 8, Firefox 40, and new user interfaces, in general. He doesn't seem to understand why I would prefer the older versions of both, and why I can't "adapt to change."

From yard work to school, that's kind of a bummer summer... Well, as long as you're happy, that's ok.

Right now, I'm on my last vacation of the summer. Both the weather and the pool have been nice!

Things have been going good! I've mainly been enjoying summer (hard not to after the horrific winters we've been getting in recent years), as well as doing some more posting around at my site and other places.

Nice that you've returned to school. Hopefully, it's not costing you an arm and a leg to do it.

Just checking in. How are things going?

I feel bad for kind of ignoring the Red++ thread these past several weeks, but you seem to be getting along just fine without me. The new beta looks great, and I can't wait to check it out!

It's probably due to lack of accuracy on VBA-M's part.

Yeah, unfortunately VBA is quite old now. VBA-M should be the norm.

BGB is better but unfortunately doesn't have a RetroArch core.

I've noticed the full recolor of Red breaks the original VBA and possibly real hardware. I really wish people would start testing their GB/GBC hacks in Gambatte or BGB, since those emulate the Game Boy perfectly.

Yeah, sounds like a fair way of doing it. I hope I can get this FRLG one working, it'd be a really nice addition.

That's a neat idea of going about it, actually.

It can work in emulators, quite a few GBA emulators have e-Reader dot code support. VBA-M has it, as well as No$GBA.

There's actually quite a bit you can do. Right now, custom trainers and berries are possible. I'm also looking at the Eon Ticket stuff, and it seems that we can also play with this and insert custom scripts to the save file to play with and assign them to virtually any NPC in the game.

Haha. I'm working on getting Mystery Events working for FireRed, and it's coming along well. I also found, after some Googling around, completely disassembled versions of the e-Reader dot codes too so yay.
