Ahhh, I see. I've been studying art for awhile so I usually have all these little 'rules' per-say in my head and consider them when making a picture naturally. My first draft of the girl the orange was not in the center and I wasn't going to mess with the sun, but then I forgot I had a size limit.

Now for you, do you wish to be a spriter? Because when I make pixel arts, at least in my mind, it's different than being a spriter.

Yes! Try not to use a static "front" or "side" view, and make sure to use your perspective and foreshortening. :D

You could do that for the background, or I'm not sure how, but emphasize how hot it is. If it's still night make sure you see those freaking bright lights.
Eww, I have memories of going to the dirt races that my cousin (or my father's cousin, some family member) entered in. Muggy hot, stale dirt in the air, super loud cars and pain-splitting-headache-educing lights.
At least I went once so now I have reason to skip when they come around again.

Have you taken art in school? (Have you finished school? owo)

:3 Like I said it's still rough. I'm just trying to get things down, because I usually get discouraged if the thing I'm currently working on doesn't look good, so this way I can look forward.

It really doesn't seem like it's night. Is it moving or stationary?
It's a nice car. But nothing feels special about it. It's just there. Nothing pops and makes you go "this is pretty cool!", composition is what I'm saying.
You've got more room, I really think you should use it. I know that the summer races sorta counts as a summer theme but you've not captured any "summery" feelings.
This is a very strange thing to say, but your car has no emotion. It's not organic, and it's positioned dead center. As a general rule in art you avoid placing things "neatly", as it becomes boring.

With your actual pixeling technique, the only thing I can point out is that dither does not have to be 50% all the time. I know it comes from a doll site, but it works.

Your skills are good, but this doesn't come off as a piece of art. There is no feelings, messages, or anything to be conveyed. It's a car on a race track with some fans on the side.

Vişne Tanrıça is Turkish for Cherry Goddess. (o_o You commented earlier and I didn't notice.)

:| I guess that people just don't know how to word things or can't find flaws. Even so they could do what I did in FireTears' thread, and really post why I liked it instead of saying "looks great!".
I'm really really in the rough stages of my entry.
Everyone else is using dithering to create more colors, so I'm going to do something different. :3
(The spray paint blending is just to get the look in my head. That won't be the way it connects)

    Sooooooon. XD

There are lots of really close entries this time, so I want to be absolutely certain on which is what place before I post them and decide one of the ones I didn't post is better than them. XD

I'll have like- the next 8 or so tomorrow, I promise. (Unless PC dies or I get hospitalized or something XD)

I still got a few yesterday after... I think it did help some, though. I think someone said that the next server fixing thing will stop those maybe?

About Me

  • About = GPR =
I'm a NASCAR fan. Some people call it an obsession. Some people think NASCAR's just stupid. But when you go to a race, you're instantly hooked. For me, i was hooked after I watched my first race on tv.

My favorite driver of the last ten years is Mark Martin. He drives the #5 chevy. He was supposed to retire in 2005. But he keeps prolonging it...

I am also a big supporter of Paul Menard. He's a really nice guy who is fan friendly and a true driver who is not afraid to get his hands dirty with the car. He is super cool when signing autographs. He will sit there for an hour and sign everything that you throw at him. In my case, he signs all my diecasts, shirts, hats, cards, and 1:64 scale cars! Even cooler, he gives me a pit hat every year! He's cool like that!

So yes, I might be a little obsessive when it comes to NASCAR and supporting my drivers. (I used to wear a VIAGRA hat when Mark Martin was sponsored by it for a couple years!) But I have found a community so strong and so friendly in the NASCAR community, and an excitement like no other in the world!

Mark Martin's amazing win at MIS:

This year's best NASCAR race: Talladega!
NASCAR, Pokemon, American Government, and collecting HW cars
