I usually get to work by 2 PM, check the main agenda for the day to see if any of the stories has not been covered yet and, if so, I usually get assigned something. Otherwise, I check the imaginary (I mean official) currency exchange market (closes at 3) to report in the rates the Government made up that day, and the stock market at 5, while keeping an eye on the all-news TV in case something worth reporting to Spain happens. I work for the Spanish Government News Agency so we are told to focus on things related/newsworthy from a Spanish point of view- ie nobody cares about a politician saying something unless it has serious national or international relevance.

Nope. I wanted to live in a Soth American country and I thought this was the cheapest and the one with the biggest and proudest Spanish/Italian heritage so I'd feel comfortable since I'm going to be here for a whole bunch of months.

I had asked for London first but oh well.

Yep. And that's not exactly right, Perón nationalized everything in the 50's, then in the 90's a Peronist president sold everything for ten bucks to the first guy knocking on the door, then the Peronist Cristina Fernández nationalized the gas company YPF and the Argentinian Airlines (which had been sold to a criminal which is now serving time for several economical crimes), so it's not exactly "everythign every two years" :P

The main problem for foreign investors is the ridiculous monetary laws that keep the official exchange rate impossibly low (so you get only 66% of the value of your dollar when you go get pesos) and making it impossible for them to send dollars back home (unless you pay the full 100% price through illegal ways). Not a very inviting prospect.

And yes I am. A fun job here.

Yeah, working here until next July. It's similar to Spain but with a crazy Government with no economic policy other than printing and throwing pesos at everything and a weird political geography where everybody changes parties every two years and the main party includes people from the far right to the far left.

lol son I meant the "jkjkjk" part; you don't have to respond to the wall if you don't wanna. It takes time haha.

That's pretty cute, I heard that fast food joints overseas are treated like gourmet restaurants? And I hope your parents got chicken that fateful day; coleslaw is not worth any sort of wait ever, even when meeting your future spouse

Haha dude, everyone back home judges anyone who doesn't look like them -- this isn't a thing in China? I used to think I could pass as either/or (people would even guess I was hispanic sometimes) but upon visiting either country I found that I stuck out like a sore thumb. Since I'm on a youtube roll I'll link you to a vid I'm in and you can judge (and so tech. I am a movie star wooooo):

    http://youtu.be/3XJv9jEav34?t=1m27s

On the note of clubs, is meeting girls in China any different from meeting girls in the West? This might be totally unrelated to that but almost every language exchange partner I ever spoke to on Skype (learning Mandarin) that was female told me they were interested in me and wanted to marry me. Dude, it can't be that hard to find someone in your country haha. Unless they're looking for a green card or something?

Pretty astute guess about the complainers -- one guy from Hong Kong and several "whitewashed" kids haha. Beijing reminded me a lot of a cleaner New York City, except for the smog problem. For the record I think China is awesome and will eventually become the global hyperpower at some point, just unsure when/how. Maybe another revolution, I dunno...and honestly I don't even think India can compare. They're behind in so many other aspects that I don't think they'll be hitting top ranks anytime soon :/ Economic progression is important of course, but I think as a people (mentality wise) they're advancing very slowly, too slowly IMO.

Sweet, nice to meet you John. Was wondering this about second-gen Chinese (well you're not but still) -- does everyone get a Chinese name + Western name? Or is a Western name just adopted for ease of integration? And I am exactly 50/50 (Indian side is mixed with a lot of things though, Persian/Mongolian/etc.). And lol that is a good guess, my father is the Arab one yeah. Everyone in my family can haggle but it's such a difficult concept for me. I usually cave if it's something I really want

My real name is John. I used to be known as BlahISuck but nobody liked that name so now I'm Kanzler.

2) How did you find the Pokecommunity, and why did you join?

Shinygold. I tried to get into rom hacking but that fizzled out and I ended up just modifying Pokemon...

I have a better idea. It's brilliant in it's simplicity. I call it "Enthusiastic Non-consent." The way it works is, If sex does not happen, it's because the woman said "no," and stuck with it. If sex does happen, it was consented to. Isn't that a much easier system to go by?

wow what
