The second problem is just weird because the connection works fine until the map data is reloaded. I checked my calculations numerous times for the OMDL, CMPDL, X and Y alignments (I'm using JohtoMap btw - I don't think it matters, though*) and they all check out. I'll try and figure it out again tonight.

*I've gotten connections to work before, with sheer guess and check, and this has never happened :P

Also, how did you get the camera yo move in Gen II? I never saw it in-game, so did you add it yourself? It's cool.

Well, thanks again. I tried connecting Cerulean to Route 1 from West/East respectively, and I was able to do so with relative ease. Only 2 things:

    1. At one point you mention "(Y_movement_of_connection_strip_in_blocks * -2)".
I think you should remind people that since negative numbers cannot be used, that they must instead minus the number from 256 (which is the same as 0, like how 2pi = 0, on the coordinate plane (hope you know what I mean)).

E.g., if y alignment = -4, it should instead be input as 252.

Also, when I put 252 as the y alignment for one map, I had to put 4 for the other. Dunno if that happens to you.

    2. Whenever I got into a battle (Trainer or wild) the connection and sprites would mess up. No idea why.

I think I remember seeing something like that in German before, actually. Don't remember where. I couldn't understand a thing though, so that's great there's formulas in English now. :D

Great job and thanks a lot, I'm gonna try them out soon.

Has there been any solid progress on map connections for G/S/C? I'm looking into them again. I'm trying to figure out a formula for how they're calculated so there's no more guess and check... But it's tricky to figure out how X/Y alignments and OMDL/CMPDL affect things in the first place D;. Mainly, I can't figure out the effects of the Y alignment and CMPDL.

This weekend I plan on getting Pokemon Black 2 and White 2. You might not know this, but Pokemon Black and White had sequels released this year.

Haha I guess, thats probably where the passion wore off, overcame all my troubles and learned how to make a decent hack still though, I'll probably stop hacking Pokemon games not long from now. I keep having less and less time... one day maybe, one day I'll get back into it

Hmmm, I see what you mean.
I just have very little time for hacking anymore. My passion for it wore off after a while, I really want to make a beautiful hack but I don't have the incentive to sit down and spend hours scripting etc. Mapping I'll do, because it's what I do best, but general scripting, it's not for me. I know how to script, and script well too, it just gets tedious...

Didn't the first generation have magnets, sludge, a Pokeball, and two Pokemon that were just three Magnemite and three Diglett combined together? Technically every generation has odd designs but it's not what Pokemon look like that matter, it's what they can do, like people. You shouldn't judge a book by it's cover you know.

Hey, cheers for your response on the questions thread. Tbh, as map as mapping with a Silver ROM is, I don't think I'd have the time or patience for Hex Editing and dealing with the multiple issues it will bring... Besides, I have a pretty neat looking hack in progress anyway, a Firered hack. I'll just stick to that, especially as I've been hackjing Firered for years now Thanks for your response!

In my opinion those Pokemon had creativity put in to them, such as Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Hariyama, Cherrim, Hydreigon, Yamask, Luxio, etc. Didn't you say Pokemon Black and White were your favorite Pokemon games? It is probably because of Game Freak doing some new things and wanting Generaton V to start from a new beginning.

Yes, but which ones do you like? I'm just wondering if you liked any non 1st and 2nd generation Pokemon related stuff.

Are there any Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Unova Pokemon that you like? Also, I'm the only person not tired with the Fire-Fighting combo, since there are three pure Grass and pure Water starters. Seeing that Game Freak are mixing things up with the 5th gen, the Ruby/Sapphire remakes are probably going to include the Sevii Islands, seeing as no one would expect it.
