To be honest I like the normal Pokemon formula, it's the reason why Azure Horizons is my favorite ROM Hack, why Pokemon Platinum is my favorite Pokemon game, and why the 3rd generation is my favorite. Since the 3rd generation is my favorite generation I also prefer 3rd generation ROM Hacks and ROM Hacking. It's also because the 3rd generation is underrated, along with the 4th generation.

darn it, only six more hours before the day ends, and someone noticed it's my birthday today! xD

I guess I ain't good at being stealthy.
(the reason why I ain't announcing my bday here in real life is for me to avoid everyone singing the happy bday song to me, and some other things) xD

    Thanks though.

I like being non-social. It helps me to get rid of problems of other people which I do not wish to be a part of. My own life is trouble enough as it is. xD

Nice to hear that things are going well for you.

    It's no problem.
And when I'm done with SkyLine, if I can complete it, that is, then uh...
I'm not really sure. I don't like planning ahead. I'll just let the time flow and try to keep up with it. :\

And I know life is more important. I'm just making progress if I have nothing else to do with my free time. I'm not a social-type of guy, hence why I'm always indoors.

Sounds good. I'll make an account there tonight.

After looking at some old notes of mine about map connections (they're like pseudoscience lmao) I am considering doing a tutorial on here. It would include your forumlas and you'd get credit for them, of course, but it'd also include some background info on how connecting maps are stored. Such as, explaining how connecting maps are moved around based on a 15dx15d grid (+16d to the OMDL shifts the connecting map's position from (0,0) to (1,0).)

If that doesn't make sense now, I promise it will in the tutorial. Honestly dunno how many people would read it, but someone somewhere with a burning desire to hack G/S/C might want it one day ;D

Actually, I thought I'd changed my comment before you saw :I

But agh I don't know what I'm doing wrong! I tried connecting Route 8 and Cerulean, East/West respectively, but the same thing happens: In Cerulean, the connection works fine whether I reload the map or not. On Route 8, the connection works fine until the map is reloaded, then it doesn't work.

There's this thing in JohtoMap called CSUBP (Connection Strip Upperleft Block Pointer), which JohtoMap calculates for you, but warns that the calculation may sometimes be wrong. I think that might be the issue. Any way I can do it manually, if you know how?

The second problem is just weird because the connection works fine until the map data is reloaded. I checked my calculations numerous times for the OMDL, CMPDL, X and Y alignments (I'm using JohtoMap btw - I don't think it matters, though*) and they all check out. I'll try and figure it out again tonight.

*I've gotten connections to work before, with sheer guess and check, and this has never happened :P

Also, how did you get the camera yo move in Gen II? I never saw it in-game, so did you add it yourself? It's cool.

Well, thanks again. I tried connecting Cerulean to Route 1 from West/East respectively, and I was able to do so with relative ease. Only 2 things:

    1. At one point you mention "(Y_movement_of_connection_strip_in_blocks * -2)".
I think you should remind people that since negative numbers cannot be used, that they must instead minus the number from 256 (which is the same as 0, like how 2pi = 0, on the coordinate plane (hope you know what I mean)).

E.g., if y alignment = -4, it should instead be input as 252.

Also, when I put 252 as the y alignment for one map, I had to put 4 for the other. Dunno if that happens to you.

    2. Whenever I got into a battle (Trainer or wild) the connection and sprites would mess up. No idea why.

I think I remember seeing something like that in German before, actually. Don't remember where. I couldn't understand a thing though, so that's great there's formulas in English now. :D

Great job and thanks a lot, I'm gonna try them out soon.
