The only reason people idealized her as being stupid is because that's how the "mainstream" media made her appear. When polled, a good percentage of people who voted for Obama thought that this skit that was shown on a night show was real. The media attacked her so violently and unfairly because they saw her as a threat. She was a successful WOMAN who was a CONSERVATIVE *insert gasps of horror here*. She wasn't on the right political side, so they attacked her (which is also what the do with a lot of black conservatives as well and, yes, they do exist.)

It's not even that. It's just... lessening the value of a human life, and that in itself is wrong. (and it's just as much the man's fault, because after all... xD)
I think that Obama won the media over, and there was really not much the American public could do when the only reporting that was being done was positive for their "golden boy". I actually didn't like McCain that much. Palin would be the one I would have voted for
