Computers are the only thing I'm interested in

I thought you liked ROM hacking that much
I'm gonna try some ROM hacks sometime soon, especially the ones you suggested.

    Yes, I am.

Okay, maybe I can not confuse you when I explain this.

My wife is who I had the kid with and proposed to, though we're trying to cancel the marriage. My girlfriend is my girlfriend. Also, I see my kid every other week. Another thing which might seem odd to you but my wife and my girlfriend have became friends like over the past few months. xD

I will soon, but not now as I want more progress to be done.

Well, I'm re-learning scripting as I forgot most things during my year or so break from hacking. xD

Also, I still see him. Though, he has been sick a couple of times today, so my girlfriend says.

What is wrong with the ":O" emoticon now

That exactly; that's why I don't like windows: especially vista.

Servers are like web applications... how do I explain this...?
So when you go to a shop, the shop is open for a long time, waiting for a customer to come and ask to buy something.
A server is like that, it's an application on the network or the internet, waiting for a computer (called a client) to connect to it and ask for something. Of course, the client doesn't have to physically be at the shop, rather just communicate using internet.
Like google has some webservers running, which allow you to visit their websites.

I just realized everything I listed was a server application. LOL

What I did was, I converted my computer into a server. I had:

A TV server which allowed other clients (in this case computers, can extend to any device with an internet connection) to watch TV.

A music server which allowed the clients to listen to music that I had on my computer (like pandora or grooveshark), also they could control what music was being played on the computer (a remote control).

Webserver because I wanted to create web applications in PHP, Ruby, Perl etc (programming languages).

Seedbox is like having a torrent client. Called a seedbox because they are usually used for seeding clients, I also used it to download some.

Printer server so that any client could print from my printer.

An SSH server, which gives one remote access to their server, while maintaining security.

So basically, even when I was outside, waiting for my coffee or the bus to arrive, I could use my computer from my mobile, talk on IRC, schedule downloads, listen to the music I had at home, etc.

Hmm, my hack is going ok, but I've had trouble with a few scripts here and there. I've inserted most of the tiles.

Also, shes is doing very well. XD

Just don't turn this into something like Win vs Linux vs Mac wars, k?

So my hardware does not work in Windows 7. Is there any reason for somebody to buy a new Laser printer when they already have one? Or a TV card when they have one that supports all the features they need? New models came out and the companies stopped updating their drivers.

Now I'm stuck with hardware which only works in Win XP, Win Vista, or Linux. Now imo, Win Vista sucks big time. There are speed issues, I mean it is slower than both Win 7 and Win XP.

Also, I'm a developer, and I prefer to work in unix based environments. I like to use irssi often, ssh, and all these unix utilities, same software in windows just isn't the same thing.

I've grown used to GNOME based desktops, and gnome software. I just don't like windows interface any more. Small features like tabs in the file browsers etc.
Everything seemed so easy in Linux, fire up synaptic and choose everything you want installed and it was done and updated automatically.

I used to have a TV server, Music server (kinda like a jukebox), webserver, seedbox (also used it to download stuff when I was outside), printer server. I had configured remote access from my mobile, what not!

Doing that stuff in windows is a pain in the ass

    Wow, that was huge. :O

I usually don't. I never do in fact, I'm the guy who fixes everybody's thumbdrives...

Somebody needed some software for their thesis, apparently, the university can't afford $2000 every year, so they have to use warez.

Anyway, I have many reasons to shift to Linux. I think, I might get a laptop for windows if my mum gets a new computer (which she is thinking about)... I can put all my Linux only hardware on this computer then.

It's window's fault for having a gazillion viruses

Linux has like 3 viruses or something :D
