By the way, custom built for me means buying the parts and assembling them at home, just in case you were wondering. XD

There probably isn't a custom laptop community, and not really many places to buy laptop parts. They'd end up looking like boxes, anyway.

    That's still a great laptop.
AMD FX-8350 Oct Core @ 4.0GHz is like a future processor.
Oh -- and I overclocked it to 4.33GHz.

Well, during compilation on Windows, an executable will have the resolved external function address embedded into it. Basically, it's faster to hook up the function, but less flexible. A shared object is just an object, and the function is resolved at runtime, also allowing for free exchange of shared objects. Kind of like Java classes, except not.

    Ick. I really dislike dlls.
Especially because dlls are Windows only.
sos are fine, because they're just objects, and could technically be used on any platform.

Hmm. We could just write a bunch of C++ classes in the C# style. Then exploit some hidden compiler quirks, and voila!

I like C#'s organization, but I don't like its implementation.
Especially since it's such a big Windows thing, and I won't use Windows for my life. I'll be using Linux up until the day my OS reaches production. I know there's Mono, but that's still a required framework.

By the way, now that you're a supporter, why not spicing up your profile a bit?

Yeah, you have to be constantly refreshing your memory, or you'll forget all of the interrupt codes. XD

Haven't gotten to that part yet.
I'm trying to do as much of it in Assembly as possible.

Ah, okay. If you'd like, here are some PDFs hosted on my computer.

There are some OS documents floating around in there somewhere.
