I suspect that the Snowcrest gym 'winning trainers' problem is due to a mixup with the Slate gym. When I first entered Slate gym, the player character's name was already in the winning trainers list - probably just a simple mixup of which gym to update (perhaps Slate gym is referred to in some parts of the code as the third gym); I suspect that after beating Gemini, the Snowcrest winning trainers list will update.

Hm, iirc, you can't actually leave Maroon City until you defeat Milo (& thus gain the ability to use Cut in the field), and you can't fight him without getting HM01 from Devon Co., ...so the cuttable trees on Teal Path are rather superfluous, serving only to make the player keep a cut-user in their party if they want to walk between towns. (I.e., it's not an actual badge/story-gate - only the policemen in Maroon are.)

I'm against route obstructions in general unless they make in-world sense; by comparison, the rockslide east of Slate *does* make in-world sense, as it's a very recent occurrence, the path was clear before it, and someone's working on clearing it - but Teal Path? Nope. (Why, just imagine how many customers from giant Slate City that the Egg Shop is losing due to those darn trees! ) So I suggest that you simply remove those trees so that players can walk back and forth between towns without needing to make a pitstop at a PC. You might consider adding some 'items blocked by trees' spots in previous areas instead (Cobalt Forest is an obvious choice), which is a better use for Cut anyway.

Don't get me wrong, it's no Kanto Route 4 (I hate Route 4's one-way ledge with a burning passion), but it is annoying and (given the Maroon City scripting) unnecessary :/

Hidden Power is the only TM available via Pickup in FR (FR's pickup table is very simple compared to the crazy level-dependent ones that started in Emerald ). Nuggets, PP Ups, and rare candies are the other 'real' items available in FR; the rest are just berries. (I found 3 pp ups via Pickup before the fourth gym; yay for tricking out my Sealob+Pinecrab Crabhammer duo!)

I didn't notice any other weird TM incompatibilities (certainly TM10 was learnable by all the mons I checked); Lucario losing access to Bulk Up surprised me though. (Although I think that Crabble/Pinecrab should probably be able to learn Bullet Seed, which they currently don't. Or maybe you restricted access to it to encourage Mega/GigaDrain use?)

(One more thing: blue-Bullet-Seed Water Gun is hilarious. Though maybe the sound effect should be changed to be more *splash!*-y?)

"Also, I'd just like to say thanks for the detailed post on my thread - it really helps me out and makes my day to see posts like yours. "
My pleasure :> . Cyan's been making my days, so it's only fair

Although most moves in Cyan use their Gen6 versions, Hidden Power appears to use the Gen5- 'base power depends on IVs' method (varying from 30 to 70 rather than being a flat, respectable-ish 60bp in Gen6). I don't know if this /can/ be changed, mind, but it would be good if it could, as it'd actually make HP usable (since real pokemon aren't crazy-high-IV terrors). (In case you weren't aware, Hidden Power is obtainable in FireRed as TM10 via Zigzagoon's Pickup ability, so for folks like me who love them some Pickup, this would actually be a very handy change.)

I messed up with the script- there's a fixed version in the thread now. How it would break exactly depends on what bytes come after the branch you go down, as well as what you've done with your battle script table, which is why there's different results- not nicknaming does consistently cause the problem.

I just received a message about that and I am changing it. I was under the impression that it was just hacks that couldn't be. I didn't realize that a program I almost completely coded myself was under those terms too. Its not like I made more than $0.001 on each click any ways, so I'm taking the links down.
