    Yoshi's Story was one of the first games I got on the N64 and I was getting nostalgic for it so why not put it as my signature? :P

    I actually figured out a nice and simple method. Every legendary has the same level script, which hides the legend after the battle ends if you caught it. I just modifyed it to setvar 0x8003 to 0x0, so there's no way any forced shinies can happen.

    Basically, Shinyzer used variable 0x8003 as a counter. You set variable 0x8003 to the number of shinies to encounter from that point on. I just did a test, and basically anything that sets that variable to 0x8003 will make shinies happen. It's pretty likely the game would set that variable to something, since it's an 0x8000 family of variables.

    But I know it isn't the stones. I'm going to try and change the Regi battle, which uses a special, to just a normal wildbattle command. That will fix any issue, but the fix won't be out till next beta. Till then, I'll stick the bug on the page, but only as a minor bug. Shinys being stuck is hardly a bad thing, except the unlikely scenario you do what you did.

    If you could help in any way possible figure this out, it'd definitely be appreciated. I've tried replicating everything I can think of to draw out the Shinyzer past what it should be, but it won't work. I actually remember a beta test in beta 3, my friend said Shinyzer got stuck for a bit. Since it's dependent on Var 0x8003, I can only imagine something modifying that variable, but I have no clue what. Hopefully it doesn't become a major problem, though. I'm hoping that Ash Gray's events stopping was due to the way it was programmed, with unsafe variables being set or something. Since I used the variable expansion fix, I'm hoping this doesn't happen to me...

    I had a feeling something like that had happened, although I've never seen anything like that before. Usually if it's a Bad Egg, it'll be bad when the battle starts, from what I've seen xD

    I'm going to look through Lake of Rage and see if I find any bug codes that are setting the Shinyzer to doing weird stuff. Thanks for your help

    Hmm, that is odd :\ I just tried battling Regirock, but it was just plain. Can you give any other clues as to what you were doing before? I think it might be an issue with the Shinyzer, but the only places it is used is in a couple NPC battles, the Magikarp Salesman, and the Lake of Rage.

    Hello, there! Of course I remember you. But nope, no Keratin. I got bored with the whole thing and stopped working on it a year or so ago. Maybe longer. What there is of it does work; I suppose I could go back and finish it, but somehow I just can't muster the enthusiasm.
