    Ok, for advancing frames for shiny eggs, you call Joey. Run around until the DC Man has your egg. Save in front of him. Get the egg, if it's shiny and the right nature. Turn off and do ivs. If not, do it again. For IV, you call Elm. When you are one frame away from the one you want, you stop calling and collect the egg. It's sounds confusing, because it really is. And I'm horrible at describing things.

    If you hit a certain delay you can always change the year. I tend to keep mine in 2009 I think because there is a perfect spread I can easily hit.
    If your timer is decent then it should matter much.
