EO games easily have over 100 hours of playtime just in the regular story, more if you try and complete all the side quests. But, that's kind of the point. It's supposed to keep you doing things, even when still focusing on the story itself.

I heard Megaman Zero was supposed to be okay, but I never tried it, so I wouldn't know. Again, I never really got into the series outside of Megaman X.

Heh, that's sad to hear. There was only one game I had the misfortune of faulty software had to be Avatar: The Last Airbender. It sucked because I actually was enjoying the game up until this part where I had to free one of the main characters who got captured by the enemy. Turned out there was a known glitch that sometimes prevents the game from loading past a certain point. If it occurs, the game's pretty much done because it'll just keep occurring. Because of that, I never completed it... :/

EO is intense. It's all in first person too, which adds a lot to the difficulty. The best part, though, has to be these on-field enemies called FOEs. They're basically boss level monsters that either stand in your way, move along fixed paths, and/or chase you if they spot you. It's tons of fun once you're strong enough to beat them with ease.

Heh, I've never been much of a Megaman fan outside of Megaman X. I never beat the original. Sigma was brutal. I have been making a lot of progress in the Megaman Xtreme games since they're basically mixed up remakes of the first two or three (I only played the first one of the original series, so some stuff was kind of new to me when I started playing these).

Zelda isn't a thing for everyone. I understand that perfectly. I love the series, but like all game franchises, there have been some pretty BAD titles. I've never been completely disappointed by a Zelda game, but recent ones have been subpar compared to the old ones. A Link Between Worlds was meh-ish (I enjoyed the fact that it had a story, but they lowered the difficulty way too much from its predecessors). Phantom Hourglass (and, by extension, Spirit Tracks) really suffered from terrible gameplay (making it so you could only use the touch screen to do anything really killed them for me). I could go on, but I'd easily "fanboy" all over things.

Nope, haven't played another since I put my GBA away!

Yes, actually. Well, mostly Nintendo games. I've been downloading some older GBC titles for my 3DS's Virtual Console lately, and I'm shocked how many titles I missed. I actually had a GBC, but I only used it for Gameboy games. I've discovered a lot old gems like the Zelda: Oracle games (which I actually got last summer) and a few MegaMan X side-titles I didn't even know about (collectively, they're known as Megaman Xtreme).

Alternatively, I did come across an interesting RPG series last year for the DS/3DS that I had no idea even existed. It's called Etrian Odyssey. I only tried the demo of EO IV: Legends of the Titan on a whim, and was totally addicted right away. The main premise is that you are a wandering explorer who came to town seeking to find out the secrets of the holy tree known as Yggdrasil (named after ancient tree in Norse mythology). In the games collectively, Yggdrasil was supposed to be an attempt to save the world in a time where technology, war, and pollution got out of hand (i.e. just after the modern age). In the centuries after, the world became more primal and humans regressed to a feudal society (some technology still exists, but it's a far cry from what it was). The gameplay itself is mostly dungeon crawling mixed with old RPG aspects. Also, the games are intentional hard to put for a challenge to serious players (EO IV and EO Untold allow you to change difficulties, but I didn't because I actually want to play them through on Normal difficulty, which is actually Hard).

Usually, Delphox or Noivern. If I'm feeling gutsy, Zoroark! Zoroark is actually great for playing mind games with people. They always assume it's going to be your first Pokémon, and that's a great thing to prey upon. Team preview doesn't diminish Illusion at all, if you know how to utilize it. Sometimes I will bait people by sending Zoroark out first and then keeping a Pokémon that is weak against specific Pokémon's attack in my party's last slot. It's great for weeding out Mega Gengar or Mega Alakazam before they have a chance to actually attack. Zoroark (well, my Zoroark) is fast enough to out-Speed almost any other Pokémon, even without a Speed-enhancing nature (mine has Modest as opposed to say Timid, which my Delphox has).

Yep, that's why I included it and Aegislash in my team. I know Aegis is more attack-oriented, but I bred/raised my mine for Defense/Sp. Defense like Lapras. The main idea is that even if I don't use King's Shield to prevent damage one turn, it can still take a hit while I prepare to attack by using Swords Dance.

I actually have a balanced team with two walls (Lapras and Aegislash), two straight attackers (Zoroark and Mienshao), and two item swappers (Noivern and Delphox). All of my Pokémon can double as attackers, but I've found that I can really devastate teams with misdirection and intentional traps. If I can pull things off right, I can make it through an entire battle without so much as losing two Pokémon.

Pretty well, actually. Well, again, it's not always a sure win, but I can really draw out a battle if I want to and the longer it goes, the less likely the opponent will win. I've even had people ragequit on me because they couldn't beat one of two Pokémon: Aegislash or Lapras. I know most people don't like Lapras because it's not overly strong Pokémon, but it's naturally high stamina makes it very difficult to KO. It gets even worse when you take the time out to max out its Defense and Sp. Defense EVs. I even went the extra length to get one with Bold Nature and the respective Def./Sp. Def IVs just to get better endurance. Add Water Absorb ability, the item Leftovers, and the move Freeze-Dry to the mix, and it becomes another Water-type's worse nightmare. It takes a little work sometimes, but I can generally trap people against Lapras and some of their attacks become almost worthless. I've even gotten so bold as to endure Fighting-type STAB attacks for the first turn to just see if Lapras would survive, and it almost always does. I'm shocked how much it damage it can take before someone actually KOs it.

Muscles, yes. I literally can carry my own weight and then some. I actually scare people when I suddenly heft a 12' X 20' roll of carpet on my own. Those things alone are easily 150lbs, and I carry one right after another like it's nothing some times.

Also, I only recently got back into competitive battling. I was sort of into it in Black/White, but I mostly just kept to Random Matchup and used Pokémon I raised for the Battle Subway. In X, I've actually developed a team based on some older teams used to use in-game as well as a few things I've seen other people use in the Player Search System or Battle Spot. I didn't really copycat anyone, but I admittedly use some common OU Pokémon (namely, Aegislash and maybe Noivern. I never really cared about tiers, so I may be mistaken). I've found an interesting mixture that allows me to switch between offense and defense strategies on the fly, and it's terrifyingly effectively (It's not always a sure win, but I can usually endure for a long time before my team finally goes down).

Ah, okay. I wasn't sure if I mentioned that before. It's mostly physical work like lifting, carrying, and moving things around. I'm also on my knees a lot (literally). It's actually a hard process to describe...sorry...

Well, anyways, work slowed up again, so I've been sort of idling here. I've kind of gotten involved in some gaming activities, though nothing that's officially organized (mostly battles against some of the mods and other members when they/I ask). I've developed kind of a nasty competitive Pokémon team as a result.

Heh, I usually do remember the names of people I have talked to at least a few times, though it may not always be right away.

I've been good, relatively anyways. Admittedly, I've kind of given up fanfics for now and been concentrating more on real life matters. I was actually pretty busy working until recently (not sure if you knew this, but I'm a flooring installer and my work fluctuates drastically depending on whether people are building houses and buy flooring for them). Otherwise, I've been spending a lot of my downtime gaming (mostly online with Pokémon X/Y, but just as much offline with older games).
