    I know. D:

Hopefully this makes it a little easier. It's not impossible to do it the other way, but it takes some time.

Yes, of course. I'm not saying that we do it all right now, but it's just something I'll try to think up if I'm not doing anything extensive.

You know you have to do it. ;D

Most definitely. A little training outside of the story can be fun, but if we're forced to grind consantly to even have a chance of winning then it just makes posting tedious.

I don't know why its censored either.

That was indeed the picture I have been using, but yes, that's probably a good idea. >.> I'll do that when I start with spriting again, which should be just about now.

I'm sure I can come up with a few if you need assistance. Two heads are better than one, after all, as the Doduo know quite well! I'll tell you if any come to mind.

Well, the arena master has to have some advantage.

...Oddly tempted to try to convince you to base the ice-type master on Ike.

That seems like it'd work best. Any situation where a Pokémon has to use its skills to some degree would probably validate a small experience gain, and it means that players don't have to grind quite as often in order to get their team to an acceptable level.

Fiiine, I'll just get help from Mehrunes ****n. That can't go wrong!
...Except apparently the second part of his name is censored. idon'teven

Oh, no. I'm getting all of my sprites from one single picture I found on the internet, from that website you told me to use. I have to cut them out with the lasso/box tool, and it's not very accurate.
Ha. My islands aren't exactly detailed, but they look similar enough to the maps in Soul Silver.

Yeah, I suppose. I think it might make more sense though to have plenty of different random events for all situations, and then as a player reaches a certain area you put into place the one that seems most appropriate. Obviously some would be reliant on location, but I personally think it would allow people to explore to a much greater degree rather than putting them onto scripted paths. A fossil might be easy to find in the cave networks of the rock island, but it might just wash up on the shores of the water islands.

Exactly. Arena champions are meant to be a challenge. It wouldn't make sense for them to be so easy, but it also wouldn't make sense for them to be two dozen levels higher than the challenger. A balance is needed, which might need to be adjusted depending on the player.

Oh, yes. The roleplayers would probably all be of a similar level, but I think that a player on the electric island with the same level Pokémon as someone on the ice island should be able to find Pokémon of the same level/a similar level as the other guy.

I, personally, would prefer a leveling system, although it is your choice.

How do you know they aren't? :3

It's hard to directly copy and paste them with GIMP. In most cases I copy over the image so I know what it looks like, then I redraw it. It's not even that though. The most time consuming part is probably making land and the surrounding water. The different shades take a while to draw in.

Yeah, I know what you had intended. I just thought that with each region specialising in a specific type, it meant that characters like mine who focused on one type would find it a pain to actually start collecting Pokémon, and then you've got some people who simply don't like a specific type and so hanging around in the area would be a waste of time. I just think alternative paths would make it more enjoyable to explore, and it'd give the players a greater sense of freedom.

And as you said, arena leaders can be adjusted. They likely have tons of Pokémon in storage, so one moment they could have out a Quagsire and a Blastoise for a tough opponent, and then swap to a Staryu and a Goldeen for those less experienced... or a Magikarp for those totally useless.

I imagine each island would have areas with different leveled Pokémon. Weaker players would stay in the more docile areas but tougher ones can venture further from town.

Will there be a leveling system in the remake of LIL?

    The sload gods.

As I said, I use both depending on my needs.

Thanks! I shall keep doing it.
Spriting using the proper sprites is especially time consuming. I don't do enough spriting to know any tricks of the trade for speeding things up, although I've managed to work out a couple of things. I'm enjoying this! :3

I think my main gripe with the original map was that it was so linear. You could go clockwise or counter-clockwise, but that was it. I kind of want to put all sorts of alternate paths in this map, assuming you don't mind. I imagine the arena leaders and the local Pokemon could be adjusted depending on how many badges the player has.

Well, I can help you with those too. :3

Yeah, I suppose. I just find that the Elder Scrolls Wikia is better for actual gameplay content, such as locations and weapons and the like. I think everything is better laid out and easier to find. UESP is far better for lore though, I think, because it's much more extensive.

The black routes are tunnels and cave routes. I wasn't sure what to use for them, so I figured that black paths would be a decent way to do it. Glad to see it's not a total failure though. This spriting thing takes ages.

I'll use that photo for a basis for the rest of it, thanks.

No. They're just ideas I've been meaning to put into action.

UESP is also incredibly useful for lore purposes. The Elder Scrolls Wikia is better for game related knowledge I think, such as looking up quest lines, but UESP for lore most definitely. It's always a fun read, and I could spend hours just reading it.
Looks like we need to have a lore-off. See who is the greater library of knowledge!

She's definitely important to the dunmer. That we can agree on.

Here ye' go. Gold locations represent settlements with a gym located there. Along the left side we have electric, rock and dark. In the middle is water and then normal. On the right is steel and ground. Of course, it can be changed to fit anything.

Now I want to play either a sload or an obese bosmer.

I suppose it's not mentioned that often in the games, only in the books which I read almost constantly. I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to video game lore.
I haven't played it either. I just know these things. I'm a fountain of knowledge.

I know that Azura changed the chimer into the dunmer. I'll have to look up how close she is to the dunmer pantheon though.

I've made five islands now for a main map. Unofficially designated as normal, water, rock and dark type islands.

Because so many people reach that high a level?

I think they would make good player characters. In an actual Elder Scrolls game they would definitely have to be NPCs, but in a roleplay? I think they could be playable, if done right.

Sload are not bound by the morals of mortals, silly.

Here I was, thinking you knew a decent amount about the lore. Khajiit can range from looking almost identical to wood elves all the way to looking like a common house cat, and then all the way up to a giant tiger, depending entirely on the position of the two moons at the time of their birth. Only a few forms have been shown in the games, although the ones in Morrowind are a different subspecies to the ones in Oblivion/Skyrim because they are much more feline. It's their way of explaining how the khajiit have changed significantly over the course of the games. In Arena they looked very, very human.

The dunmer worship many daedra. Azura is one of the nicer Daedric Princes, so it makes sense that she's worshiped to some degree.

You never know. I might completely mess it up.

Yes, but they have level caps. It makes them useless in the late game.

They might walk slowly, but they would likely float more often than walk. I think they would be a fun addition to any Elder Scrolls roleplay, honestly, assuming the player can do it well.

It's why they live so long. ;D

The khajiit believe that Azura created them. The khajiit change significantly depending on the moons, and considering Azura is closely tied to them it was a logical conclusion. I can imagine her being important.

I'm working on creating a proper map now. I'll probably be taking the initiative on a few things so I hope I don't change too much. I'll show it to you when it's done and then we can make changes/scrap the idea entirely. x)

Eh. They only work on enemies up to a certain level, so when you get quite powerful they become useless powers.

As far as I know, the sload have the longest lifespans of any of the species. It's stated that if they have a finite lifespan or a finite size they can grow to then it has not been discovered by the other species. If they do run into danger they simply teleport away, which means they rarely get into that much trouble. I know that in the sload language there is no word for adventure... the closest word they have translates to "tragic disaster", which never ceases to amuse me. Then they grow so huge that you'd have to be delusional to try to attack it.

And they may be selfish to some degree, but they still value wisdom highly. Many of their heroic tales involve the heroes spending years consulting with older, wiser sload before starting their adventure, with the rash and impatient sload often dying quickly.

If they make a game set in Elsweyr, I hope Azura will have a key part in the story.

I'll take a look at the map! It was only a test mind you, to get my bearings on GIMP. I think it turned out well though, and should make a nice starting point.

It's one of my favourite old television shows.

Some racial powers become useless at higher levels. War cry for example, and Voice of the Emperor. Hist skin and Highborn never stop being useful though, so I like those kinds of races. I should really play another argonian character though. Heavy armour, dual wielding.
I have plenty of gold all the time. I buy everything. :3

On the contrary. Sload live peaceful lives free of danger, and their magic allows them to cater to every need. I imagine most sload would end up living that long, although they would never leave the ocean.

I love wood elf culture. <3

Also, I made this. I think I need to make any future ones bigger, but I think it's a decent starting point.

I was referencing television shows. >.>

Elves are very specialised, except for the dunmer. Altmer are designed as mages, bosmer as thieves and orcs are warriors, making the three most common archetypes in a game. Of course, I like most of the species... I just prefer the elves. Especially the orcs. They have an interesting culture, and they have one of the few powers that never becomes obsolete/can be replicated in some other way.
I can't remember, honestly. There's actually a vendor in the Dawnguard fort that sells all of these salts, so that makes it easier. You can also buy these elemental bolts which is what I usually do.

Yep. They don't walk as much as they float, and I imagine it looking hilarious. A giant, floating blob. c: Their magical potential is likely something to be feared as well. They also never stop growing, so there are likely one thousand year old sload that grow to the size of mountains deep in the ocean.

Scroll down on [this] to the part about the Green Pact. It should sum up everything about the bosmer and their dietary preferences.

I've made a few human characters, but I've always preferred the others. The elves are far more suitable for each class, I think. Altmer for magic, bosmer for stealth and orismer for melee. Humans are far more rounded, which makes them rubbish at everything in the long run.
Using fire salts and other atronach-based items you can create crossbow bolts which explode, doing either frost, lightning or fire damage. Plus, Dawnguard allowed you to smith regular arrows, which was incredibly useful.

The sload are certainly interesting. They'd be very fun to roleplay, especially since any time they try to fake emotion I imagine them being incredibly sarcastic about it to the point where they're just mocking you.

My bosmer idea was the idea of a mercenary leader. It is bosmer tradition to eat the flesh of those that they slay, but as the leader of a private army he insisted on eating every corpse his mercenary band killed. He grew quite incredibly fat as you might expect, and spent his money on drink and women. His laziness drove the mercenary band into the ground, and he was left with absolutely nothing. He would be incredibly arrogant and mostly useless in a fight. He's a decent businessman, but he'd be the bane of any of the other characters.

    Only Fools and Horses.

It isn't, but I fear they will. It'll be just as interesting as any other Elder Scrolls setting, but not the kind of interesting I was hoping. Humans are boring.
Much the same. Even if I'm not a magic user it's still as long as my arm, especially if I'm using a crossbow. All those magic bolts. :3

I haven't played it either. I actually had a fabulous idea for a sload character for an Elder Scrolls roleplay once. I actually adapted it into a bosmer character which plays much the same, but has a far more interesting backstory.

It's actually quite simple. I've already made a map of two tiny islands.

So, this is my first blog entry here, and I have absolutely no idea what I want to do with this thing. Reviews? Journal? Something else? An all over the place mixture? Who knows. I already know from past experience that I'm not really good at this kind of stuff, so it may be that my entries are few and far between. But bare with me!

As far as this first entry goes, I think I'm just going to "review" (I've never reviewed ANYTHING, so it's not going to be much of one. xD)
