Yeah, I see a lot of challenges with BW2 ending when Iris is beat. But my feeling is that it should be just as difficult to complete Unova in BW2 as it is in BW1. I guess I will put Emerald and Platinum back though now. I truly appreciate the input, and welcome you to let me know any time you have a concern. To be honest, I'm a little surprised you didn't try to get ownership of the challenge yourself. But you are probably quite busy with Monocolor, so I guess it makes sense. Good luck to you on all your challenges!

Yeah, I asked Sydian, and I was right about Emerald's general end point in Challenges. But I do think that Steven might be a bit much. I'm only playing a Hoenn region game for the first time right now, so I'm not super familiar with those games. I'll probably switch Cynthia back on Platinum as well. But I stand by the BW2 choice. I'm not even done with Post game yet, and my team is well on it's way to breaking the 70s on my normal play through.
A tad bit off topic, but I was much happier with BW2's post game than BW1's. Don't you agree? I mean, I guess I don't know if you've played them or not.

It's not like I would penalize anyone who has completed the challenge previously under different standards. I would still recognize anyone who previously completed the challenge. This only applies to people who play the challenge after the changes.
This isn't exactly like Nuzlocke where rules are strictly set in stone. A challenge like this is much more flexible. I understand where your coming from though. I need to give this some thought and maybe discuss it with Sydian, and see how she feels.
I will probably go your way on Emerald, you're probably right on that one. But in B/W, N defeats the Champion, and thus would be the Champion himself, so really, you do beat the champion in your first run. You have just as much opportunity to raise your Pokemon further post game, if not more so, in BW2, so I still strongly believe that rematch battle should remain in those games, since it would mean making it easier rather than harder if you play BW2.
I'm up in the air on Platinum. I'm really not sure what I should do on that game. Just know that I only have the best intentions in taking over this challenge, and I do realize that it is an important challenge. No one will be penalized for playing the challenge under different rules previously though, you have my assurance.

First off i would like to say thank you for showing concern. Very few people have given any input on the new format. Now here's my reasoning. On bw2, there had actually been no standard for monotype since it had not been released yet at the time this thread was created. It is my feeling that if you are required to face the e4 in their rematch version in bw1, then it should be the same for bw2. On Emerald, most challenges I have seen require in Hoenn region games that you defeat Steven, even in Emerald. On all of the games, I feel it would be holding a double standard not to require the highest challenge in a given game since players of the Johto region are expected to defeat Red in every single challenge, including this one. If you still have a problem with this decision, let me know and I will hold a poll to see what the general consensus is.

You're luckyyy. You can change your Rotom's form. I had Rotom for the second run of the favorite challenge, but it was my Ghost type and I couldn't change forms. XD
