20 GB for Linux is more than enough, it was made for notebooks that have a 10 GB harddrive.

yeah, dropping a second gig of ram in there would definitely be a good boost. ram prices have really dropped, you shouldn't have to spend at the most $50. not that expensive at all.

actually the easiest way to install it and use it whenever you want is to simply install it via a virtualization software. (I'm using Sun's VirtualBox software, which is free) (not sure of your specs, but if you have a dual core cpu and at least 2GB or RAM then you should be able to run OSX and Ubuntu at the same time with ease.

I'm currently downloading the 9.04 version now, I'll go through the install and se if there's a way to skip past it installing the Grub bootloader, as that's the only thing that I can think of that might throw a wrench into the install.

I got a developers copy a while back, the version I have is still really buggy and at the time they were still fine-tuning things like the new Cocoa Finder and Grand Central. I rarely use it anymore, it's more of an eccentricity now. I originally got it because I was getting into some development stuff and had a friend who had a copy, so I bummed a copy off of him. I should really remove it, but I'm too lazy and have the space on my HDD. (I've already deleted the install DMG he gave me though, so if I wanted to share it or re-install it I can't)
