So I was stalking your profile to see if you were online (:3) and read that VV Down there by SS!
So I'm just gonna copy and paste this to his profile too, but:

The dead internal battery on R/S works like Emerald's RNG, because the regular RNG is based on the timing - when the timing messes up, the RNG "breaks" too. This basically means that is is totally possible to get shinies by SR, but whatever way you look at it it is RNG abuse, since you have to reset your file until you have an Early Shiny Frame. It means that you could Soft Reset forever and ever on a file and never get a shiny.
However, there is the possibility to get RE shinies that aren't RNG clones, but people count it as RNG abuse anyway since you have to know the timing awfully similarly to RNGing.

Okay. Its just that that post was kinda an overreaction imho. Would "Next time, could you please ask me before using my ideas" not have worked? I just find that if you hadn't mentioned it at all pretty much nobody would have noticed they were similar, and I don't think there would be any problem at all. Nobody looks at signatures anyway, lol. And I've got another idea for a sig. *puts on safety goggles*

Oh, about the Ruby shiny frames, I have honestly no idea. I know from someone who knows a lot about these RNG-related things that SRing in Ruby with a dead battery is like SRing in Emerald, but I also know people who have gotten multiple RE shinies on Ruby with dead batteries. When mine gets here (assuming the battery is dry) I'll do some REing and when I get two (assuming I get two D: ) I'll check the IVs and natures to see if they are RNG clones.

Oh, and Gen IV Masuda odds are 1/1639. Smogon, who originally discovered the Masuda method, basically tore apart the game's coding to find it, and their conclusion was 1/1639.
