Hey Zel did you fix the bug where the rom
Crashes when you press start. This happens when I play your rom on the gpsphone.

I was just wondering what tool you used to transfer the gold maps into a fire red Rom. I looked on advance map and I didn't see an option to transfer maps from another Rom into it. I'm working on a Rom of Firered similar to yours except you start out in Firered like normal and at the end of that game, you travel to Pokemon Ruby and continue the story in that region.

    Zel,

I know you probably hear this from everyone, but thanks for giving us all a great hack. I'm a freshman in college right now, and when I think of wanting to play a pokemon game, I usually feel like playing Shiny Gold.

I'm sure you get enough PM's of this nature anyways though. However, I have more to say.

Recently, I attempted to trace what happened to V6, so I basically read the entire Shiny Gold thread in the hacks showcase forum attempting to see what happened. Obviously, I ended up where the thread got closed.

It was really admirable, the way that you balanced college life, work life, and hacking all together. I don't think I'm ever going to be capable of that. However, I saw that you even took the time to respond to nearly every reply in the thread with a lighthearted yet grounded response, whether it was an update on the game's progress or a helpful response to the millionth person to ask how to fix the save states or how many legendaries there would be. I REALLY respect the persona that you show on the internet; too often, I feel as though the internet makes people think that they can be jerks when they are anonymous, or that they can do whatever they want. It is really rare to see someone who serves to please, even if they get no credit for it. From what I can deduce from an internet thread, you really are a great person.

It was also funny looking back at the whole pre-HG/SS setting that entire thread was in. Personally, I enjoy the gameboy advance and have no wish to purchase any sort of DS. SG was a great opportunity for me.

I played through Beta 4 at one point, and am now starting Beta 5X. While I have to say that it is a bit sad that I won't get that final showdown against Red in the end, I'm glad that I've had the opportunity to play through this hack of yours. I love the additions you added personally, as well as the faithfulness to the original game (though I remember victory road being brutal, seeing all the HM's I needed to use. Genius design though really). You could definitely say that the game was finished anyways; Kanto in GSC was a bonus anyways, and that's how I think of it in SG.

I assume that you get a lot of messages that urge you to complete the game still; I feel as if I have no right to do that. Admittedly, I would love a complete game, but you have your own life, and you are in charge of what you want to do with it.

In the end, I would just like to thank you for the time you put into this game. It seems you've become some sort of legendary hacker for this! You've certainly earned such a title. Beyond being a great hacker, however, you seem to be a great person from what I saw in all those threads: very kind, caring, and considerate of all your peers. To me, that is far more important than creating the greatest hack of a pokemon game I've seen.

I hope you read this message. I doubt I will be an active member here on PokéCommunity, but it would actually be really awesome to hear from you. Hopefully, I can configure this so that I get an e-mail alert upon any response...

    Anyways,
I wish you the best of luck in your life,

    - Cronosnake

Zel, we all miss you, and I'm confident you'll be back one day.

While you may have given up on Shiny Gold, I believe you'll be there with some amazing new hack that'll blow our minds away
